Surprised no one posted this yet: Hawkins and Ryder talked about them on the December 6th episode (the one about Luger and Doink) of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast. According to them, Chalkline is involved, there’s a YB two-pack that will be sold online in early 2019, and there are “others to follow.” The discussion in the news segment, specifically at the 1:09:30 mark of the podcast. They stated it as fact, not opinion or speculation FWIW.

I can't really see this actually happening, regardless of who is involved.
At least not with the big rubber figures we associate with LJN.
The costs are simply astronomical to produce those overseas and then ship, because of the weight.
And if you try to produce them in America, the labor costs are much much higher... making the value you'd save on labor (but gain on shipping from China) means it's probably net cancellation.
There's a reason why the cheap, light, plastic figures from Jakks/Mattel are what sell now.

Cost are they the big, solid ones or the smaller bendies? i don't know off hand if the original ljn said "twist and turn...." on the side of the boxes

They probably will get released as the regular LJNs we know, but at a premium/collectors price.

Interested to see how this goes. The market for these types of old school figures just feels too niche for it to ever be anything more than a high end collector’s item for a specific target group. I don’t think there’s a chance for the classic style to ever be main stream and mass produced again.

Matt started some type of countdown that will end in New Year’s Day. Hopefully this is what it’s in reference to.

They'd do surprisingly well.

The Jackson brothers are not my personal thing, but they are marketing geniuses and appeal to a rabid fanbase who will not only buy pretty much anything that supports the Young Bucks brand, but will get their peers excited about it too. I think a lot of people on these forums tend to get very sour and jaded and are vastly underestimating the appeal of both the Elite/Bucks brand and the retro fascination with LJN style figures. Would something like this ever be competing for shelf space with Star Wars toys or WWE Mattel figures? Not very likely. But they would definitely be a hit with the target audience in the same vein as the stuff from Super7 or Mezco.

The Young Bucks are very smart business men. They got the Funko deal, the merch into Hot Topic. I'm not into their superkick gimmick but as a team that has a following they do their job very well, without having a big company supporting them.

I wish it was but I suspect we’ve seen the last of the wwe and Lucha Libre muscle figurines.

Even though I'd LOVE ReAction wrestling figures!

I'm pretty sure the Legends of Lucha Libre Muscle figures sold well. Those figures sold out fast on Super7's website and were also available at their Comic Con booth. The WWE Muscle figures rotted because of terrible distribution. Mattel pitched those Muscle figures as their only Comic Con exclusives. If you wanted them, you had to buy them at the booth. They weren't available to purchase online at all....Fast forward to a couple of months ago and these exclusives randomly showed up through Ringside...and now they're showing up at Five Below. I think people wanted these items, but when they came out -- you couldn't buy them anywhere.
I'm not sure what the status on these figures are, but Super7 did show some ReAction style Lucha Libre figures back at ToyFair. Definitely niche, but pretty cool:

Their retro lines of other properties appeal to very specific and rabid fanbase. I think there's a big distinction between the average WWE fan, who is happily served by Mattel and many other mainstream brands, and the type of fans the Elite draw in. It's a different beast from my observations.

I really dont see these being a long successful run. Your younger generation isnt going to want giant rubber figures with no articulation and most of your older fans who grew up with LJNs either aren't Indie/"dive" type fans. Its gonna be a very small niche market that these sale to.

There aren’t other licenses made in that style that would make this a novelty item sought after by collectors of that style or even scale. A Mego or g.i. Joe style figure might have been more desirable. I’m still definitely getting them.
