Ok, so...it's now been a month since I personally last saw any semblance of this set in my local Walmart. I am wondering if since we all originally discussed the set, if anyone has had luck finding it? Is there hope a restock may happen etc.

Nothing on the Elites in stores around me. The JJ Dillon basics came in a couple weeks ago, so there's a chance the HBK set is floating around out there. Surprised the online supply has dried up already, though I say they may reappear on Walmart's site eventually.

Nope, still the same in Los Angeles. I would buy on eBay now before the prices go even higher. Or maybe we'll be flooded with them in the new year. Tough to say when Mattel doesn't communicate at all, and Bill doesn't seem to care when asked.

With all these Fan Central waves hitting I am worried we won't see it till next year if at all but I bet it ends up at some other store somewhere possibly.

I find it interesting that a year ago, Bill is asking the community for pictures of the shelves to help identify distribution problems, and then a year later he couldn't give a damn: Bill likes to hold himself out as the self-appointed face of the line. If that's the case, then a proper response would have been along the lines of "We are working on it" or "I will escalate this to our Distribution team" -- instead he just totally disowns it f-l-ippantly (wtf mods?! is "phlip" banned?) and doesn't show much interest. From what I recall he also took his ball and left this board when he couldn't handle some feedback. I don't know what the issue is, but the guy needs to figure out whether he can handle being a public figure (at least in this community).

Lol the real solution to this problem would be just no more exclusives that can't be distributed properly. Ideally we woukd just have ringside carrying them all instead of seeing them have these store exclusives at a 39.99 price tag.

Without brick/mortar retail support, the prices would go up (due to the hit to overall volume) but at least there would be less distribution issues.

Mattel was the best and worst thing to ever happen to the WWE action figure line.

Havent seen jj dillon or shawn figs. At all. Wow that is crazy because my local Wal Mart has had, literally like 3 cases of JJ BAF sit on the shelf for 3 months and not sold a single one (and not discounted them either) Wal Mart’s distribution is so f’d up

15 Walmart’s within 20 miles. Had positive movement (+8) for the first time since this series was released. Checked out the store and it was another case of S2. Wild.

Bill is a very talented designer, but it's pretty clear at this point that he has a thin skin when it comes to criticism of his work. He keeps repeating that short packing Harley was a choice. Which it was. But all the evidence (availability, second market prices, consumer feedback) points to that being a bad choice. And in business, whether it's a company or an individual, failing to learn from your mistakes tends to not end well. I love this line. But the decisions over the past 12 months (lines that retailers don't order, repeatedly changing branding of lines, changing distribution methods every 6 months) make me think Mattel has absolutely zero what the retailers or consumers want. Which only makes it a all the more frustrating when we're over here talking all day about what we would like to see in the line.

I don't know what the issue is, but the guy needs to figure out whether he can handle being a public figure (at least in this community). So, you're criticizing him over one innocuous and obviously truthful comment on Twitter? Neither he, nor Mattel have any sway over the largest brick and mortar retailer in the world. You don't even seem to know what you're criticizing him for. He saw us bitching about distribution and wanted pictures that he could show, in other words, he wanted proof. I don't know if anything came of it...but in my area, distribution has definitely improved. Bill doesn't hold himself out as anything, he's a toy designer who came here and interacted with us until we crapped all over that. It's absolutely our fault he doesn't post here any more. There is very little constructive criticism. Instead what we do is exactly what YOU'RE doing and making it personal. Learn the difference. Also, you don't even know what f.l.i.p.p.a.n.t means. (BTW, "f.l.i.p.p.a.n.t.l.y" is not even a word) f.l.i.p.p.a.n.c.y is characterized by shallowness or a lack of respect. Telling someone "I don't know how Walmart allocates their exclusives" is a direct answer to that question. What is "I'll escalate this to our distribution team" going to do? You think someone is going to call the CEO of Walmart and ask them where their Harley Race figures are because sweaty neckbeards online don't have their man toys? Please.

If the retailers don’t want it then Mattel’s not going to make it.
As for Bill his asking for pictures I am pretty sure he said he would pass it along to that department. Still Mattel has no say in when the stores restock their shelves. Mattel doesn’t sell or ship to individual mass retail stores. They sell to the corporate buyers and ship what is ordered to one main distribution center. Then that distribution center ships it to all their other distribution centers who then ship it to the store in their district. So Mattel really has no control over that.
And he left because people here didn’t constructively criticize the product...instead they took personal shots at him and his work ethic calling him lazy. And regardless of what anyone here thinks it’s not his job to come here and ask for input or what we think. He did that as a courtesy because he is also a fan who happens to be the lead designer for Mattel’s WWE.
