Surely you dont honestly believe Mattel send random cases of stuff out without it being ordered? Come on, really? I mean when walmart and target orders wwe figures mattel just sends out whatever they have. But a company doesnt say "can we have some WWE figures please, we dont mind which ones, whichever you have lying around is fine" the company orders the latest series in advance, from order sheets, nothing about the process is random, I have ordered products direct from a manufacturer before and have never been sent random stuff, I always get what I ordered To think Walmart doesnt specify which products they want is naïve at best |

It's important to remember too, especially in the case of Wal-Mart, that the in-store back of house space is not nearly large enough to serve as a pick-and-pack hub to keep these stores replenished to a corporate standard. Individual stores are fed out of regional distribution centers that, in some cases, may cover entire states depending on your geographic location, and the replenishment procedures are largely automated based upon registered sales and/or manually scanned out of stock procedures. Wal-Mart is a machine in its own right, and there's a lot more in play here than your local toy department manager saying/not saying "get me that Pete Dunne!" or Bill sitting at Mattel HQ fanning himself with stacks of cash chortling "hahahaha! F*ck store #1796 in particular!" (as delightful a scenario as that is to imagine)

Mattel sends them a pallet and if there happens to be a few or a lot of repacked elite 62 cases as long as there the same series mattel is not saying anything to target or walmart. Walmart and target and not gonna check and mattel I highly doubt is gonna say anything. Then we get reports of several people posting on this thread that mattel is sending repacked cases to there local stores. |

We read about members doing that all the time on here. Or it could have been overstock from the backroom because the cases were picked through in the back room prior to being put out. Whether it was an employee buying for themselves or getting a figure for a customer. I know employee check the backroom for me all the time and will just pull the figure I am looking for. Doesn't this come up EVERY Christmas? Yes. I think they used to be designated "Best Of" cases, but for last two years they have just been cases of random figures from last few series. |

I highly doubt RSC/Amazon combined could touch the volume of Wal-Mart alone. I think Mattel said TRU comprised about 20% of their business, so I imagine Wal-Mart and Target probably take another 50% together, which doesn't leave much of the pie for the other brick/mortar and online retailers. Keep in mind kids are a large component of Mattel's sales. I think impulse purchases due to a child's demand is much higher at brick/mortar than online. I was reading something online that touching a product increases the odds of buying it 50%. For kid purchases, that does not translate online. |

Distribution is such an ongoing drama. Anybody who says it’s not Mattel’s fault missed the point that it’s matteks problem. I’d happily buy HBK baf set if I could. I can’t so they lose that money. I dare say I’m one of many. They can bury their heads if they wish, but it’s costing them plenty of cash. Cost me $155 dollars to buy this set. Sure enough after I bought the last one needed ( Steamboar for $44) I found them the very next day at my local Walmart (No Harley). |

While I do buy from both RSC and Amazon figures I can’t wait to own that would suck if that was the only option. That being said I don’t know about you, but for the most part I like to look for the best looking of the figure before I buy it. |

Has anyone tried to talk to Walmart, not at store level like distribution center level? Explain all your gripes and see what they say? It might not change anything but enough people complain who knows? I've said it before that it's almost 2019 if they can't stock stores adequately then they need more focus on online sales. Regardless of your thoughts on how things work, you'll never know until you ask, and if they give you some roundabout answer, oh well at least you tried.

I’m seeing all of this “direct ordering” talk on this thread. Are we assuming a manager physically orders these? Walmart had an inventory system that was completely
automated (at least back as long as 15-20 years ago). A specific SKU gets down to x units, it automatically replenishes.
I think the problem lies at Mattel. Surely Walmart wouldn’t see a product that mostly sold within the first few days and not reorder it.
Also, don’t all Elite lines and sub-lines carry the same SKU, so wouldn’t that account for some stores getting FB2 replenished, while others received FB3?
