Personally I'm loving the line so far, and have really been warming up to it more and more with each wave. Some of the characters, like Orton or Wyatt, are guys who I just have zero interest in regardless of the line. But I think it does a great job riffing off the Hasbro spirit while working in the reality of modern design costs. I'd love to see more molds and deco, but that just probably isn't going to happen at 2018 and stay at a decent price point.
It hasn't been without faults, but neither was the original line.

This x100. Some people seem to have put Hasbros on this pedestal that the current line will never reach due to nostalgia. Hasbro re-used so many parts and painted in details all the time. What Mattel has been doing isn't anything Hasbro didn't do back in the day. True, but that was more towards the end of the hasbro run when sales were down and they had to cut corners. Pretty much, from series 1 thru 5, every wrestler got a unique mold (with the exception of a few; Typhoon was a late replacement but they had a unique mold for Tugboat, Sid reused Hogan 1 models, Model reused Macho 1 molds). I think the main complaints with the Retro line has been the Wrestler's they chose to make, distribution, and reuse of the same molds (also using molds for people with completely different body types; Goldberg/Sting/Triple/Daniel Bryan, Cena/Angle/Sheik/Warrior, Austin/Goldust/Orton, etc). But that's just one man's opinion. I don't mean to pick at you directly savage, you just happened to be the last one to post. I keep reading "late in the line" or "towards the end of the line", and I seriously have to question if people are just being stubborn on purpose. For the four years that Hasbro was making WWF figures, that was ALL they were making (wrestling figure wise, that is). That was THE line. Of course there was going to be more innovation, more molds, more parts, and more paint apps. That was what they were pushing. They needed it to sell. What Mattel is doing now is a bone for fans of a bygone era. They don't have to do this. This is a side line that they're hoping to sell by producing these at minimal cost. Retro, or vintage, or throwback, or whatever you want to brand it is popular with people like me who remember being a kid and having no responsibilities aside from chores and homework. But this isn't "it". Most kids aren't going to pick these when they have elite and even basic options...or other lines like Star Wars and Marvel Legends. We are all turning into Comic Book Guy, and I don't think anyone sees it.

I'm not sure who this line is even aimed at. some of the picks are just way off. I don't want a Hasbro NWO Macho Man. I'd prefer to have a Wrestlemania 7 Macho.. same with black & white Sting & Wolfpac Sting, why was Wolfpac Sting even a slot?
The modern guys are what they are, I don't care about The New Day, but I can see why they're there. what purpose does 2000 Kurt Angle serve? that's out of place with a Hasbro collection and modern guys.
I'll continue cherry picking the ones I want, but as it looks now, the only ones I'm getting any time soon are Iron Sheik, Goldust, and maybe Diesel.

I am mostly happy with what we’ve gotten, spare the jumpers, and credit to those paying attention, the jumpers have been curbed. I do love finding these in the wild and getting a rush when I open them. Takes me back to the glory days! I hope this line runs forever, and we fill in the crazy holes missing like Power and Glory, Tugboat, Shiek Slaughter... I will buy any retro releases aside from a lazy repaint like Kevin Owens. Also, I would love to have the Miz and a recent/no jumper daniel Bryan.

Dude it's not like they are giving these away for free. Please don't ignore the fact that Bill said this line was very successful for them. They are a business; they do this for the money. We are not some charity case. Anyways, between the utterly uninspired faces, boring attires, modern roster, and reused molds, I rarely support this line despite growing up on the Hasbros. Mattel was so close to doing something well (just look at Series 2) but they have squandered it since. Diesel will be a big win if they do it right, but I'm honestly losing faith, and they need more wins than just him.

Personally I love the NWO macho man any era macho is a good macho. I'll be getting sheiky baby, dust, and diesel when they come out too. Granted some choices are very suspect for this line but Wolfpack sting will sell. NWO sells. What we need is exclusives of these figures or even mail away variants of the older guys because let's be honest these are still marketed towards kids mostly. No kid is going to be grabbing for an 80s era legend when orton or samoa joe is next to them

I know people are probably going to hate the whole Goldust have knee pads and whatnot but I sort of love the touch. It was one of those things that Hasbro did. Mix and match body parts to put a figure together. Well, I mean, Goldust wore kneepads in this time. Underneath the attire, sure, but he still wore them.

Anybody realising they are slowly building up molds? Kurz Angle got new arms and legs. Strowman has new arms. These 3 are all repaints (granted Goldust could have been better), so lets wait what is No. 4. Seeing the evolution here and have hopes that Diesel will not share a body with Dean Ambrose. They are building it up slowly.

Sort of, the arms and thighs appear to be the same ones used for the Iron Sheik and Ultimate Warrior (just thighs), and the knee pads, calves, and boots seem to be the same ones used for Flair. From the silhouette they showed at SDCC, it looked like Diesel is going to have the same/similar mold as Strowman. Unless, of course, for the silhouette, they just rushed to put the head with the mullet on an existing mold and out of the ones they have Braun's mold seemed like the best choice.

I have been pretty salty on this line, but to be fair I think that is more to do with how hard it is to collect these things in the UK than it is the figures themselves. I took another look at the Goldust figure and actually it is a fun representation of him. When I think of Goldust I do tend to picture him with the fatter face. I never got into this line to collect them all, I was only going to get the ones that I liked, but Mattel has made it so hard to do that. We only got the first three series here in the UK and while I found series three very easily, it is my understanding I was one of the lucky ones. This is a line I want to support so bad, but I am kind of past the stage of jumping through hoops to buy wrestling figures. My take on the Mattel retro line going forward is to just talk about the things I like and keep my mouth shut about the things I do not. I hate being the dude who poops on what others like...... although I think I am justified in my complaints about the way Mattel has handled this line in the UK

You can’t go to TRU or similar store and simply buy them. I usually purchase a complete set for 15 € each instead of 20 € for just one. And honestly, while I may not like a few decisions they have made, the complete line from S1-5 looks very nice on the shelf. The obly figures that really make me go mad are Goldberg and Sting (both). Pretty sure, I will just keep collecting the complete line. Really hope to see these in store when TRU become Smyths in January. I really hope Smyths will do well as a European toy store...
