Something I'm still waiting for from Mattel is the ultimate Stone Cold Steve Austin figure. You would think we would have one by now considering how he is still the crown jewel of the WWE, but most of Mattel's attempts have suffered a bit especially in the face department. The goatee always looks painted on with a marker (SMH), and the face looks a bit off...especially those with the "smiling" face, which is pretty uncharacteristic of Steve Austin. Anyways I guess my favorite would be the HOF scan, but it's hard to tell if that is the same as the Legends or Defining Moments scans - maybe they are all the same? Here's HOF: Defining Moments And Legends (compared with HOF): The Best of Attitude figure is not bad, but the beard looks off, too bushy:

Something I'm still waiting for from Mattel is the ultimate Stone Cold Steve Austin figure. If you mean Ultimate as in the Ultimate line of figures then yes, I would love an Austin figure in that style. Probably won't happen though.
In my opinion, the "ultimate" Steve Austin figure is his second Defining Moments. The scan looks good, he has the correct boots and the belts he came with are all painted. Can't go wrong there.
I mostly collect Austin figures so this has been a thing with me as well. I think his headscans are fine, they're not terrible. They look like him, it's always the beard and how it's painted that's the issue. Sometimes it's either too light (like his second DM) or too dark (like his Basic #89), too thin (like the HOF) or too bushy (like the Attitude Era Elite).
To me, the smiling Austin scan only works if it's a heel version of him, like the Ringside Exclusive with the red lettered vest. His Basic #51 figure should've had the smiling scan. The Milk-o-Mania figure really needed to have the smiling scan too. I dunno, that's just me.
I know this is a long-winded answer, sorry.

I'm still waiting for Mattel to realize Austin doesn't have the arms and legs of a cruiserweight.

They nailed it with the smirking face of the RSC figure. Now if they would just make a Stumning Steve

I'm still waiting for Mattel to realize Austin doesn't have the arms and legs of a cruiserweight. I’ve been giving mine the dm Steamboat arms they started giving to Ziggler (e19) and Cody (e20) I like the Austin figures much more now with them. Now if they would just give him the thighs they used on Magnum.

The only one I like personally is the smirking one.

It is crazy that he has only really had 2 different heads this entire time, with some minor paint variances. The ringside exclusive scan is my favorite, but I'd like to see more, the true fx may work well for his goatee.
Add me to the list of people who want Stunning Steve. Early TV champ, Hollywood Blonds and Dangerous Alliance versions please lol.

^^3 different heads. The 2013 Signature series is different from the other 2.

I hate Mattel's Stone Cold head scan. It's so poorly painted.

I love the RSE head. It’s one of the best Mattel has ever made imo.

Yeah, those arms look much better but I'm with everyone here - we're good on Stone Cold but we need a Stunning Steve and ECW era Austin.

I'm actually not a fan of this Austin head.

Smirking one for me has a good likeness. The Legends 1 scan CAN be good but only if TrueFX is applied to it, IMO.

I’m tired of the first Legends Austin scan... it’s been done to death and needs more toning on the goatee. My favorite thus far is the smirking scan. I used to have a Austin elite and ever since it broke I haven’t bought another one. For whatever reason mattel gives Austin chicken legs rather than the thicker Dolph thighs which looks more proportionate with his torso. That with the addition of Barrett arms makes for imo the perfect Austin. I’m hoping we get some kind of revision or at the very least a figure with the Austin torso and thicker thighs combo so we could fix him up.

Most of them are thick dudes in real life, but according to Mattel you would think they are all descendents of Reggie Miller.
