Oh man i swear i've got the worst luck when it comes to figures sometimes...
So my Black Friday Order has finally arrived, i'm always patient with my orders as i live in Australia so i expect them to take a little longer, plus i wasn't bothered by the shipping time as i wanted it to arrive around Christmas time.
Anyway, i get home and see an unusually large box in my room, so i figured maybe Ringside just put my order in a bigger box with extra padding but that wasn't the case. Upon opening the box i immediately saw a wrong item and realised that's why my order's in a huge box. The wrong item in question here is the Epic Moments Undisputed Era 3-pack, i already bought this set a while ago and love it, with Bobby Fish being #1 on my Top figures of 2018. The item missing from my order however is (ironically) the 'Undisputed Champion' Chris Jericho DM figure.
Now... Despite that part of my order was wrong, i'm not mad about it. The DM Jericho was my least cared about figure in the order as i only bought it because it was cheap and a long tights Jericho attire. So if anything, i lucked out on this as i got a EM 3-pack over 1 'cheap' DM. I won't open the 3-pack just in case Ringside sees this, contacts me and offers to fix the mix up, plus i've already got a loose Undisputed so a MOC set would be nice (Even though these figures look a bit better than my ones)
Some of the boxes were a bit crushed too but i'm mainly a loose collector so it's fine. So with the Ringside 'Disasters' out of the way (Again, not really mad about that, these things happen so i understand) Lets move on to the rest of my order, where we enter - 'Mattel Disaster'...
I bought the Elite Top Talent's Rollins so i'm up to date with my Rollins collection, it's a very basic yet great looking figure, sometimes you don't need all the colours in the world to have a great figure. The accessories are great, my 2nd IC Title, my 10 millionth RAW Tag Title and some extra hands. The headscan is spot on just like the Elite 64, only on this one the beard printing went on the bottom of his nose a bit but it's not too noticeable.
Now, Mattel Disaster #1, as pictured below, Mattel botched the hell out of this and gave him an AJ Styles arm... How on earth do you give Seth Rollins an AJ arm? While it's not overly noticeable, it's still quite bad and annoying when you do see it.
Next is AJ Styles, i loved this attire so i had to get the figure of it. From my previous AJ Elite experience i was really nervous about this one. With my Elite 56 Styles, his left arm was locked, it was almost like a Flex Force figure where whenever i moved the Ab Crunch, the arm would spring up and down, so i moved the arm slightly and moved the ab crunch and it snapped - thus becoming a helicopter arm. Luckily i had one of those rubber band things to semi-fix it but the fact that it broke still pissed me off nonetheless.
Mattel Disaster #2. Unfortunately, this AJ is the same, his left arm is locked again, unable to move it back and forth without it feeling like it'll snap. I stopped moving the arm as i don't want a repeat but man... Mattel seriously needs to step up, this is 2 AJ's in a row with the same issue and i'm sure i'm not the only one experiencing this problem. If you're able to pump out a bunch of useless figures like 'Monsters', surely you can put a bit of money aside to fix your figures constantly breaking straight out of the box. While this figure looks phenomenal, it gets a thumbs down from me simply because of this arm. Plus, while the FX looks good on AJ, i can't help but see a bit of Ellsworth in it.
Moving on, the RSC WM19 Jericho was the main reason i made this order, i love this attire and the figure looks great. Thankfully, there was nothing wrong with this Jericho. The attire and the Shirt are done well and stand out with the Blue & Gold. The headscan is decent, not his best but i plan on swapping it out for a short hair Jericho so it's okay, the hair on it though is perfect.
The Best of Attitude Era Jericho is a great figure, it's a re-release of the Entrance Greats Jericho from 2010 but with better articulation now. The attire is still great and like the WM19 Jericho, i'm swapping the head for a short hair headscan. The accessories look good, the mic is as good as i mic can get but the shirt... While it looks good, holy crap is it small, it's almost like Jericho is a Medium and this shirt is an Extra Small, it doesn't connect towards the bottom but it's not a big deal. With the Basic being re-released here, i hope one day we get an Elite WM23 HBK.
Elite 51 Scott Hall... I wasn't planning on getting this but after seeing how bad the WM35 Hall came out, i chose to go with this one and i can easily say this figure is 100% better than the new Elite. The head is almost perfect and the attire is done really well, the accessories are good and all look great, only issue is his vest is a bit tight but that's not really bothersome. Great figure for i think it was $5.99, can't complain about that.
And finally The Miz, i only got these two just to do the headswap so i can have a good Elite Miz. The Elite attire is bland and Basic's is good, if only they were swapped around. The Elite head is horrible as we all know, the Basic head is much better and will look good on the Elite. The Elite's accessory went straight into the bin after taking a pic of it, when Bill said some accessories are done is rubber/plastic because they'd turn out better than fabric, how can you explain this prison of a jacket.
So all in all, this haul was a bit of a let down but there were some positives in it. Mattel seriously needs to step up with the quality control, making sure the right parts are being used (there was thread the other day about a Brian Kendrick with a wrong arm, and a Scott Hall with two right legs) and for the love of god, fix the AJ Elites, these arm issues shouldn't be a reoccurring thing, people shouldn't be paying full price for a broken figure...
To end on a Positive, I had a small laugh at the fact that instead of sending 'Undisputed Champion', they sent 'Undisputed Era', a win for me in the end.
Thanks for looking (and Thanks to all those who read the whole thing haha)
