I'm not sure if I'm alone with this opinion, but the "bearhug" action feature that was exclusive to Hogan #2 was always one of my least favorites. It looked okay on display, but was incredibly difficult to play with as you were so limited with the moves you could pull off.
Meanwhile, the Hogan #3 "suplex/overhand clobber" feature was easily one of my favorites and I wasn't mad that Kona Crush came with it. However, anybody else think they could have maybe utilized the Hogan #2 mold for Crush? It was perfect for his Cranium Crunch finisher and flexing the mechanism back and forth looked exactly like his signature taunt. Especially if Hasbro would have been able to mold new open hands for the figure instead of fists.
Again, I really don't like that feature because of how restrictive it is, but Crush seemed to be the one exception where it could've been justifiably recycled.

The bear hug action feature would've been appropriate for Crush, but they couldn't have used the Hulkster mold, the torso was very Hogan-specific with the rips on the back of the tank top.

I didn't even think about that, you're totally right. However, the same way they customized the Warrior #3 mold to accommodate Giant Gonzalez they may have been able to tool the Hogan #2 tank top into a more generic singlet for Crush.

Gonzales is based on Warrior 3 mold?! Never realized. Will have to look into it tomorow and put the figures side by side. Every week something new I guess.

Yeah, they definitely could’ve retooled Hogan #2. But maybe the body they did use was one that they already had molds for - is Crush the same body as Mr Perfect?

Yeah, using the Mr. Perfect mold for Crush was just wrong. I think the only reason they used it for him (and Adam Bomb) was because they wore the same outfit (tank top and shorts) and Hasbro didn't want to make another mold. The Hulk #2 mold could have been used, they would have had to retool the torso, and they would have had to add open hands. Personally, for Crush, I would have preferred they use the Hulk #1 mold - it would have resembled Crush more than the Mr. Perfect mold. Though, they would have had to retool the torso and legs a little bit to get the look right. As for Hulk #3 mold, I think that would have been a perfect mold for them to use for the Diesel figure they never released - it looked larger than other figures which would have worked well with Diesel's height. Though, they would have had to retool the torso and legs to get the right look.

It definitely looks like they re-tooled that Warrior #3 buck for Gonzalez to make sure he was "furry" in all the right places. Same "stomping" mechanism. Same closed fist right hand/open left hand. Fairly sure the ripped torsos are pretty identical as well.

If you compare them side by side you can see the torsos definitely are not the same. Certain the same action and concept but the two bodies and all limbs are a different size and quite different shape.

It's too bad the line to begin sooner. This would have been a good feature for Andre.

Man, that would have worked really well - I've never thought of that!

I wanted Undertaker to have it with a different torso. So he could do tombstones.
