Haha it even says best selling action figure line in 2017, pretty sure 2017 was last year But the report came out this year. The final sales for 2018 aren't out yet. But the point remains, they were the top selling line last year, and yet people are acting like Mattel's WWE line is dead. It is not. The 2018 report I bet shows its more dead than it was

Do you think you are seeing less trades & classified maybe because people are asking way to much for figures. Some people are delusional in what they think their so called “fair prices” are. Reading about the FB Race I wanted to see what people were asking for on-line. I saw on eBay someone asking $130 for one with the crown blocking his face. Who is going to spend that on a figure they don’t even know if his face is painted correctly!? I think even with the Toy Industry losing one of if not their biggest customer in TRU and more kids playing on their parents phones and tablets instead of toys the wwe line is going strong. I personally think the WWE line is doing better than ML, SW and certainly their DC lines. I see the WWE core lines (Basic & Elites) constantly getting restocked every month or so with new product. ML would be next although once the popular figures in the set go the rest sit forever. Star Wars with the exception of the original trilogy I see the same figures sitting on the pegs for months if not the year before they eventually get put on clearance and then some move. As far as Star Wars, Hasbro keeps making the idiotic decisions to throw the ‘popular’ new characters from the new movies in assortment after assortment, thus the shelves stay flooded with new Han’s, new Lando’s, Finns, Kylo’s, the Rouge One people. They sit and sit because people bought them the first time they were released and they don’t need them released in 3 different assortments. Never understood why they don’t repack one of the 20 type Troopers they have to make army building easier. They wouldn’t rot on legs like the people I mentioned anyway Anyway, thank God Mattel WWE Elites don’t make that a common practice. It would be like putting out E54 Charlotte or E55 Big Cass for 3 straight case assortments, for comparison And ML, you’re exactly right. They double packed Ant Man and the Wasp in the 2nd Infinity War wave. I’ve seen 100 of each of them, yet only a handful of Black Widow, Black Knight, Thor, etc. it’s like that wave after wave. Double packing the wrong people. I still see Hawkeyes from the Odin BAF wave, at full price LOL WWE isn’t great by any means, but I think they do a better job of getting into normal retail (Target & WM) than ML & SW

Well hardcore collectors arent buying up all the Cena, Reigns, Rollins, Styles figures are they, if kids werent playing with figures, the line would be dead, it cannot exist without the huge kids market Huge market? Not as huge as in previous decades good sir, it's a dwindling industry in regards to kids. They are still there and the primary focus, but collectors are not the fringe group they were during 1995's Star Wars Power of the Force line. We are way more important to the bottom line than you seem to acknowledge. Again the secondary market tells us what's truly "hot". That's not entirely true. John Cena figures are still "hot". But secondary market isn't needed when there are 500 of them. Secondary market tells you what figures pure collectors are willing to pay big money for. But it doesn't account for kids. Kids don't need an elite 16 punk.

I really like the Elite Hall of Champions series and want the entire collection however them being a Walmart exclusive and being in the UK makes getting these figures from stores impossible. Not interested in paying £40 on eBay for a figure that costs around £17 in the US.

Collecting hasn't died down. The hobby is hurting because people are trying to make money instead of enjoying the hobby of collecting. How many times do you see in Facebook groups new figures that are out on the West Coast of the US that are 2 and 3x higher than retail price posted? It's all the time.
If I see a new set of something and know that people are looking for it, I'll pick them up and do retail plus shipping or trade it away at retail price value to those who haven't found them.
That's honestly why I come here all the time, I get GREAT deals on figures here because it's true collectors for the most part on here, and we all work with each other.
Example: This afternoon there was a guy who posted the first elites of Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and X-Pac, and said he was looking for them (I have them) and posted pictures of stuff he had available for trade. I said I was looking for stuff that was readily available in my local retail stores, but hell if I can help someone out and get what I was going to get in return anyway, then why not? This guy was trying to get all 3 figures for HBK's DX Ringside exclusive for instance, and told me "this is a very expensive figure you are trying to get!" .....dude, it's available at retail price lol.

I got out of collecting just due to the price. Now that I’ve gotten out of college and started making a little money I’ve gotten back into it a little bit more. The recent sales on RSC have really helped me catch up on most of the key ones I missed out on. A lot of the Indy guys that WWE had signed I was finally able to get my hands on.
