Frank Lynn strolls into the locker room area, bag in tow as he scans for any signs indicating where the locker room is located. He is stopped in his tracks by a familiar yet unwelcome face.
Lila Sleater: Hello Frank. We need to talk.
The expression on Frank’s face shows that he clearly does not want to talk to Lila… but she is the boss so he crosses his arms and takes the bait.
Frank Lynn: You gonna’ wish me luck against Zmey?
Lila Sleater: Nope. I don’t care who wins as long as you two put on a good show. Give me a five star main event that even that Slipp troll can’t take a dump on.
Frank Lynn: If it’s not my match with Zmey, then what?
Lila Sleater: Daphne. The worst kept secret in the WFWF. What does she think she’s doing?
Frank makes an exaggerated sigh clearly meant to show frustration and impatience.
Frank Lynn: Why does everybody come to me with questions about Daphne? You want answers, go ask her.
Lila Sleater: You’re here so I’m asking you. She’s been harassing Mesh. I still don’t know how she’s getting her sh*t on the Tunatron but when I do find out, there will be a job vacancy in production.
Lila delivers that line with every bit of smugness she possibly can. Sometimes it is obvious she enjoys the power of her position.
Frank remains unimpressed, bouncing from one foot to the other like a kid who really needs to go to the bathroom.
Frank Lynn: Let me guess. You want me to do something about it. Get her to stop?
Lila Sleater: You catch on fast.
Frank Lynn: That won’t work this time, Lila.
Lila Sleater: Oh really? Why not?
Frank Lynn: Because quite frankly, her balls are way bigger than yours. I’d rather deal with an angry Lila than an angry Daphne.
Lila’s eyebrows shoot up like an express elevator to the penthouse and her mouth hangs open. Frank smiles as he takes in one of those rare moments when Lila is struck speechless.
Frank Lynn: As far as I’m concerned, what Daphne does on her own time is her own business. If you have a problem with it, take it up with her. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a match to get ready for.
Frank grabs his bag and pushes past Lila making his way to his locker room.
Lila Sleater: You can at least deliver a message to Miss Daphne. She better watch herself or I will take matters into my own hands. Maybe fine her. Suspend her manager’s license. Who knows?
Frank keeps walking away.
Lila Sleater: You do know that I run this place?
Still walking away.
Lila Sleater: I'm in charge!
Frank shrugs his shoulders without breaking stride, getting further and further away from Lila's increasingly shrill voice. Lila throws her hands up in the air, then lets them fall to slap her thighs. That did not go the way she wanted.
She sees the cameraman and shoos him away.
Lila Sleater: Go find a wrestler doing something stupid to film. Now! Go!
Cut to ringside where we are live at the Oracle Arena!
BANG! POW! BOOM!
An expensive pyro show kicks off tonight’s event! Streams of blue and white fireworks go off, igniting to a loud pop! Some of the audience members jump from the explosions going on all around them!
Alecia Matthews: Hello everyone and welcome to WFWF Event Horizon! We are live and in living color from the Oracle Arena in beautiful Oakland, California! I’m Alecia Matthews and I’m here with my broadcast partner, Daniel Knight!
Daniel Knight: Thank you, Matthews! The fans here tonight are in for quite the treat as we are going to see four matches that are sure to blow the roof off this place!
Alecia Matthews: Indeed! I predict that this show is going to be one of the best of 2018 - fitting, considering this is our last show before the new year!
Daniel Knight: Agreed! I cannot wait to see what 2019 has in store for the WFWF!
Alecia Matthews: Same here but enough chatter! We have a show to call and it’s time for our first match of the evening, “The Cleaner" Billy Broom versus Ryan “Needles” Payne.
Daniel Knight: Billy made a rather emotional statement that he will not allow his daughter to be dragged into the normal WFWFW shenanigans yet Needles responded by going right down that path.
,
Alecia Matthews: That’s right Daniel. Needles poked the bear thinking it was just a harmless cub but he may find out that Billy is a full grown grizzly protecting it’s young.
Daniel Knight: Which is not to discount the homicidal lunatic who takes more pleasure in hurting his opponents than he does in getting the win. This should be a great match to start the show.

The thrashing metal guitar riffs of "Gimme Chocolate" by Babymetal deafen everyone in the arena. "The Cleaner" Billy Broom comes out on stage in dark blue overalls swinging a mop above his head like a madman. After ten seconds or so, he smashes the mop on the stage. Then he rips off the overalls and flings them aside revealing his wrestling attire, still thrashing his head and arms to the music. He "moshes" his way to the ring slapping the hands of fans along the way until he slides in under the bottom rope.
Christa Adina: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Pittsburgh, PA; weighing in at 240 lbs, "The Cleaner" Billy Broooooooom!
The lights go out. The arena is in a state of silent anticipation, never sure what to expect from the highly volatile Needles. Music begins to play starting with a guitar solo leading to the inclusion of drums and climaxing in an immense wail from the lead singer. The second the vocals hit the arena is bombarded with a sea of extreme flashing lights. The colours are a blur at first. The lights trigger Needles entrance to the stage where he is met with severe boos and met with a reception of ‘expletives.'
Needles half walks/half runs to the ring clearly intent on getting to Billy Broom so he can dish out his own particular brand of violence.
Christa Adina: And his opponent, from Glasgow, Scotland, weighing in at 225 pounds, Ryan Neeeeeedles Paaayyynnneee!
Christa can barely get out of the ring before Needles jumps on Billy to a chorus of boos from the fans. The referee frantically calls for the bell.
DING! DING! DING!
Needles is a man on fire, pummeling Billy with clubbing forearms and forcing hm into the corner. Needles starts throwing vicious punches to Billy’s face and midsection, switching up target areas so that Billy cannot defend himself. Then Needles takes a step back, spins around and hits a discus lariat that rocks Billy, his head whipping back and then coming forward right into another forearm smash to the bridge of his nose.
Billy’s face explodes in a shower of blood!
Daniel Knight: Needles is asserting himself almost from before the bell.
Alecia Matthews: He’s drawn first blood, setting the tone for this match. I don’t think we’ll be seeing a lot of wrestling moves. This is a slobber knocker.
Needles continues his onslaught, kicking Billy in the abdomen repeatedly and driving the Janitor down to the mat. He stomps on Billy’s face increasing the bloody mess he created mere moments ago.
Needles steps back again, holds his arms out, and smiles an evil grin of satisfaction that incites even more boos from the crowd.
Alecia Matthews: It’s obvious who is the fan favorite and who isn’t.
Daniel Knight: Needles has made it quite clear he doesn’t give a damn what the fans think. Let them boo. It won’t bother him.
Needles grabs Billy’s arm and yanks him to his feet, whips him across the ring into the far corner with a ring rattling impact. Needles charges in after Billy, delivering a brutal knee to the stomach that doubles Billy over. Billy coughs and blood drips out of his mouth to stain the mat at his feet.
Needles grabs Billy by the chin and holds his face up.
Needles: I like it when you squeal, Janitor! Does Jenny squeal too?
Alecia Matthews: Disgusting. She’s a teenage girl. What is wrong with Needles?
Billy grabs Needles’ arm and tries to pry his grip loose but can’t. He gives Needles a defiant look and spits more blood directly into Needles face.
An infuriated Needles once again whips Billy across the ring to slam into the opposite corner. Needles charges at Billy, his head and shoulders lowered for a spear into the corner.
Billy grabs the top ropes and flips up and out of the way. Needles crashes into the ring post with his shoulder. He tries to back out of the ropes but Billy flips over him and drops Needles with a Sunset Flip into a pinning predicament.
Daniel Knight: Whoa! Billy goes for a surprise quick finish.
Alecia Matthews: I’m not sure if Billy actually wants the pin. That’s a pretty half hearted cover. He might be sending a message that he can end this if he wants… but he doesn’t want to just yet.
1!
2!
Needles kicks out. Both men are quickly back to their feet and square off in the center of the ring.
Needles: Keep fighting, Janitor. I like to play with my food!
Billy sneers at Needles as he wipes the blood off his face and flicks it at Needles, who now has almost as much blood on him as Billy does, although all of it is Billy’s blood.
They lock up and jockey for position, Billy’s superior strength becoming apparent as he starts to push Needles back and down to his knees. Needles grimaces and fights back, getting to his feet. Then he stomps on Billy’s feet!
Billy release his grip as he hops away from Needles but he isn’t quick enough to get away. Needles hits a devastating clothesline. He stomps away at Billy who tries his best to cover up.
Billy makes a grand gesture of cocking his fist, then jumps off the second rope to land a haymaker to Billy’s head. He rolls into a mounted position and rains down more blows.
Daniel Knight: Maybe Billy should have tried a little harder for that pin a moment ago. Needles is dominating him.
Alecia Matthews: Needles has been the aggressor all match. With his style of delivering as much pain and punishment as fast as possible, Billy may be in serious trouble.
Daniel Knight: Billy needs to get free of Needles, create some space, and regain his bearings. He has to out think the brawler, not out fight him.
The referee, somewhat futilely, warns Needles about using a closed fist.
Needles completely disregards the ref. He wraps his meaty paws around Billy’s neck and starts to choke him.
Needles: Squeal for me Janitor, just like daddy’s little girl!
Alecia Matthews: Oh come on! Blatant choke AND more taunting Billy using his daughter. I’m getting sick to my stomach.
The crowd is disgusted by Needles too. Most boo loudly but a few in close proximity to the ring throw trash at him.
Daniel Knight: Well holy crappola. We haven’t seen fans throw trash in the ring in.. I can’t even remember the last time. Needles has certainly made an impression on our fans.
Crumpled food wrappers, empty soda cups, and even a Mesh Piñata fly into the ring and bounce harmlessly off Needles… but they provide enough of a distraction that Billy can break the choke hold. Showing speed and skill no one knew he had, Billy grabs Needles arm, and twists around to lock Needles into an kimura arm bar.
The crowd is ecstatic, cheering wildly for Billy.

LET’S GO BILLY!
LET’S GO BILLY!
LET’S GO BILLY!
Alecia Matthews: Let’s go Billy!
Daniel Knight: So much for our professional impartiality. In this case though, I agree. Let’s go Billy!
Alecia Matthews: See Daniel, it’s not so hard to be a decent person. I’m so proud of you.
Billy continues to wrench and twist Needles arm, a pained expression on Needles face showing that Billy is giving every ounce of energy into breaking the arm.
Needles strains with all he has and manages to stand up, Billy wrapped around his torso refusing to release the kimura lock. Needles staggers around, then finds his balance and power slams Billy into the mat.
The hold broken, Needles backs away from Billy, massaging his arm while looking at Billy with psychotic madness in his eyes.
Billy stands his ground, wiping more blood from his face and snarling at Needles.
Billy Broom: Who’s squealing now?
Needles rushes recklessly at Billy, just wanting to get his hands on the Janitor. Billy side steps out of the way and sends Needles face first into the mat with a drop toe hold. Billy locks in a Boston Crab. Needles screams.
Alecia Matthews: I don’t know if Needles is screaming in pain, frustration, anger or...pleasure.
Daniel Knight: Whatever the case, Billy has turned the tides in this match. He’s in control now.
Billy leans way back increasing the pressure on Needles back. Needles screams again, this time clearly from the pain. The referee steps in close and asks Needles if he wants to quit. Needles flips the ref off. Then he plants both hands on the mat and pushes up with all his might.
Amazingly, Needles gets his torso off the mat. Billy totters a little and that is all Needles needs. He twists his legs violently and throws Billy off of him.
Daniel Knight: I’ll give credit where credit is due, that was an impressive escape by Needles.
Alecia Matthews: When you’re right, you’re right. Now that both men have taken their fair share of punishment, we may be back to an even playing field. It’s anybody’s match!
Needles pushes through the pain, charging at Billy. Billy kicks him right in the face. Needles staggers around the ring. Billy swoops in, grabbing Needles wrist and spinning him around into a short arm lariat. He pulls Needles back to his feet and hits another short arm lariat.
Billy climbs to the top turnbuckle and leaps off, his elbow impacting Needles in the sternum with all his weight and momentum behind it.
Billy grabs a leg and goes for a cover.

Needles kicks out!
Alecia Matthews: So close! No doubt that time Billy was absolutely going for the win.
Daniel Knight: Needles won’t be taken down so easily. You know how he likes the pain. Look.. is he smiling? He probably kicked out just so Billy could hurt him some more.
Billy moves in again, grabbing Needles and whipping him into the ropes. Billy runs the ropes too as Needles goes low on the first pass, then leapfrogs over Billy on the second pass. Needles isn’t so lucky on the third pass as he tries to leapfrog Billy again but Billy catches him in mid air and slams him to the mat with a spine buster.
Daniel Knight: Spine to the pine!
Alecia Matthews: Billy is showing Needles that he is a tough old bastard in the ring. You don’t want to get on his bad side.
Daniel Knight: Too late for Needles. He keeps bringing up Billy’s daughter so I’m pretty sure he’s as far on Billy’s bad side as anyone can get.
Billy whips Needles into the ropes and hits him with a dropkick. Needles remains on his feet but he is on spaghetti legs. Billy goes to whip Needles into the ropes again but Needles reverses. Billy crashes into the ropes and is immediately hit by a spear that knocks both men through the ropes to the floor.
Alecia Matthews: Desperation move by Needles!
Daniel Knight: But it worked. Billy took the worst of the fall, hitting his head on the security barriers.
Both men are dazed and confused but Needles less so. He grabs Billy by the head and spits in his face.
Needles: I hope your pretty little daughter is watching because now the fun really begins!
Needles rams Billy’s head into the ring post. Then he slams Billy’s face into the ring steps… once… twice… three times. All the while, spittle is flying from his mouth as he starts to enjoy himself.
Needles flings Billy into the security barrier where he slumps to the floor. Needles picks up the ring steps and charges at Billy, slamming the steps into Billy’s head.
The crowd turns on Needles even more than before, if that is even possible.

Alecia Matthews: Trust in our fans to let you know exactly how they feel.
Daniel Knight: Like Needles cares. He’s doing what he does best right now… torturing his opponent.
The referee is in the ring counting to twenty. Needles stops the count by throwing the top half of the rings steps into the ring at the ref. Then he slides back into the ring, quickly grabbing the ring steps and climbing to the top turnbuckle.
Billy gets to his feet and sees Needles looming high above him. Needles roars and leaps off, the steel steps preparing to crash down on Billy’s head.
Billy steps to the side and avoids his impending doom, hitting a spinning kick to Needles stomach in the process. Needles drops the steps which fall down right onto his own head!
The roar from the crowd shakes the building from it’s foundation all the way to the rafters.
KICK HIS ASS BILLY KICK HIS ASS!

Alecia Matthews: That is karma for you! Needles could have smashed Billy’s head like a watermelon but not tonight!
Daniel Knight: Billy ain’t no joke! Even a stubborn man like Needles will have to admit that.
Billy looks up at the referee almost pleadingly.
Billy Broom: C’mon Ray. You gotta’ gimme’ this.
The ref shrugs at Billy and starts the slowest count in the history of professional wrestling.

1!
Billy picks up the ring steps and hits Needles in the face with them. Needles falls to the floor. Billy places the steps over Needles face, then jumps onto the ring apron. He leaps off and lands with both feet on the ring steps driving them down onto Needles head.
Billy kicks the steps aside and picks up Needles, whipping him into the ring post.
2!
Alecia Matthews: Normally I would call foul for the slow count by the referee but not so much this time. It was Needles who threw the rules out the window. If Billy wants to ask his friend for equal time without rules and Ray allows it then I’m all for it.
Daniel Knight: What’s the big deal? The WFWF doesn’t have rules so much as it has suggested guidelines.

Alecia Matthews sighs.
Alecia Matthews: Too true Daniel. All too true.
Needles slumps against the ring apron as he looks at Billy wide eyed and almost in either respect or possibly fear of the Janitor.
Billy moves towards Needles, slowly and deliberately. Suddenly, Needles swings wildly with his right hand, a hypodermic needle clearly visible.
Billy calmly hits a spinning side kick that knocks the needle out of Needles’ hand.
3!
The referee continues his long slow count, although if he actually gets close to twenty in the next half hour, he’ll probably lose his place and have to start over.
Daniel Knight: Not the damn needle again!
Alecia Matthews: Billy was ready for it. The kick was the perfect counter.
Daniel Knight: Lucky for the WFWF lawyers, the needle is now stuck harmlessly in the floor mat instead of one of our front row fans.
Alecia Matthews: Indeed. Very lucky for all of us! I like my job. I’d hate to lose it because my salary went to pay off a lawsuit.
Needles falls to his knees, his last hurrah having fallen short. Billy steps right up to him and slaps him, leaving a bloody hand print on Needles cheek.
Billy Broom: You should have left my daughter out of this!
Billy spins and hits a vicious kick to the side of Needles head. He’s rocked.
4!
Billy nods at Ray the ref in appreciation for the oh so slow count, then picks Needles up and throws him back into the ring. Billy slides into the ring after him.
Needles tries to crawl away and gather himself but Billy is relentless. He drops a knee to the middle of Needles back. Then he curb stomps Needles.
Billy reaches down from behind Needles to lift him up and he locks on the Cobra Clutch. Needles refuses to give up despite all signs that he is a beaten man.
Needles makes one last attempt at a counter, kicking his leg up trying to low blow Billy. Billy grunts in pain from the low blow but refuses to give up the Cobra Clutch. He starts to rag doll Needles back and forth trying to accelerate the process of cutting off the flow of blood to his brain.
The ref moves in to check on Needles. Needles says something in a low and resigned voice.
Needles: F***!
Needles taps out!
Not quite satisfied with the win, Billy swings Needles around one more time and then slams him to the mat.
The crowd roars in approval!
F*** YOU NEEDLES!
THANK YOU BILLY!
F*** YOU NEEDLES!
THANK YOU BILLY!
F*** YOU NEEDLES!
THANK YOU BILLY!
Billy climbs down from the ring and approaches Christa, asking her for the microphone before she can make her usual winner’s announcement. In between heavy deep breaths he makes his own announcement.
Billy Broom: Thank you all for the support. I’m more than happy to teach that stinking son of a bitch a lesson for all of you!
THANK YOU BILLY!
I also want to apologize to my daughter, Jenny. I never wanted you to see me like this, acting like a rabid beast. But it had to be done. I’m the wrestler. I’m the one who is ready to pay the price for being in that ring. My daughter is not! She is OFF LIMITS! If any of you sick bastards so much as looks at my Jenny you better be ready to go to war!
The crowd cheers and a few throw in JENNY chants too.
You hear me Drakz?!?! You do whatever you want to try against me but you better keep Jenny out of it or I will come after you… and I will bring HELL with me!
Billy drops the mic and storms up the ramp to a loud raucous roar of approval from the fans in the arena.
Christa picks up the mic.
Christa Adina: Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner… and my nominee for Father of the Year… Billyyyyyyyyy BROOOOOOMMM!
Daniel Knight: Billy Broom wins! And he does it with an actual wrestling move!
Alecia Matthews: He must have learned that one from his time in Frank Lynn’s gym. Good for Billy! Let’s hope this is the last we have to hear from anybody talking smack about his daughter.
Daniel Knight: Let’s hope Kurt Russell forgives him for stealing his line from Tombstone.
