Sorry to be so miniscule but why has Rollins downgraded his tights to plain black? He's the top face and has nothing better to wear? You can skip the Tyler Black jokes and "Stone Cold wore just black" comments. I'm seriously asking, why revert and take away another dimension from his character and what makes him interesting? He's had some of the cooler tights on the roster, and it cheapens him and the entire Raw brand to take away such detail.

That's a trend i've noticed with a lot of wrestlers and i'm not a fan of it either. Looking at my Seth collection right now, he used to have so many vibrant attires. Even though his 2015 attire is mainly black, the gold lining made it stand out and was something no one else wore. While watching TLC, i was hoping he'd bring out one of his old attires like he did previously (The 2015 tights, SS 2016 etc...) So when he came out in ALL BLACK it was disappointing.
Going all the way back to CM Punk, during his last few months i noticed he basically retired the kickpad designs and just wore black, which yeah sometimes it's cool but it made him look a bit boring. More recently i've noticed it with guys like Gallows/Anderson, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, The Miz etc... They'll wear the black but have black designs with it, so what's the point really?
When i see wrestlers doing that i call it the 'House Show' since they mainly wear blacked out attires there. It sounds silly but when you buy a ticket to go Live, part of the experience is seeing the wrestlers as they're presented on TV, so when they show up all blacked out, it takes away from it a bit. To kind of go with that, when wrestlers do house shows and they wear their merch during the match, it leaves me questioning why? When people pay to see you, you could at least look the par for them. Anyway, i see your point with Rollins, considering he's the top Babyface on RAW now (Never going to say Strowman is) he could at least come across a bit more lively, even if it's adding some colour to the kneepads or kickpads.

Once he wore those Harlem Heat tights he jumped the shark.

Once he wore those Harlem Heat tights he jumped the shark. I call those the “Guy Fieri” or “Flavortown” tights. I have two theories about guys wearing more basic attires. 1. They want to travel light and only have one set of gear to wash on the road. They probably just bring something that they figure works everywhere. 2. They normally wear more basic stuff to make the nicer stuff seem extra special when they do wear it.

I’d assume that it would cost less to make with it being less detailed and plus he could get more made on the cheap. It’s probably easier just wearing black tights 4-5 nights in a row as opposed to choosing what colour to wear every night plus having less gear to pack must also be a bonus. Regardless, his tights have never really bothered me as it takes nothing away from his performance unless his next set of tights get him to sell and show exhaustion instead of running around the ring for the entire match like he’s on SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 with the stamina system turned off lol

Everybody's attires on the main roster leave a lot to be desired. They're fairly boring and they really do for the most part just wear black.
Velveteen Dream is really the only one I can think of that wears vibrant colors on a consistent basis.

I wish Balor would go back to the black trunks. I am not a fan of the red and I hate that they use the red trunks in 2k19.

When he came out at TLC against Ambrose, I said, "Wow, he is wearing the same kind of tights he wore when he left the Shield and went heel." So maybe it was just a full circle type deal since this story line is happening again, just with reverse roles.

As a graphic designer/artist, I think he’s just using a minimalistic approach. Not having to care too much about the attire, but keep it simplistic. I’ll be honest I’m not a fan of the all black look with one red kneepad. I’d be nice to see him have a attire that’s not all black for raw and then bust out the cool ones for pay per views. I was a huge fan of his wrestlemania 34 attire

They already own the gear though so I don’t get why they don’t wear it? Hell, Miz still to this day is making the most of his Wrestlemania attire and wearing it a lot

I was a huge fan of his wrestlemania 34 attire I know the whole minimalism thing is the latest rage, but to me, it comes across as lazy. Vince even says these are supposed to be larger than life characters analogous to superheros. And he comes out in plain black tights? On PPV? And it wasn't a street fight or anything. WWE is high budget theater, and costume is as important as any component. Rollins has the ability to have really cool gear, and I'm not complaining that it isn't the coolest, but anything is better than plain black.

Until it becomes a 6 month trend, it's not serious. He's had the best attires in the company for a few years now.

Not everybody is wearing all black. Look at Jeff Hardy, he always has some colour with the black. Ruby Riott too. The Luchas too. With Rollins I think it’s more of a black metal kinda thing. I mean Aleister black won’t start wearing colorful tights either.

I agree idk why but having a bland attire makes the wrestler less interesting to me. Like Ambrose for example looks worse than he did before, I'm not a fan of his current attire with no shirt or wrist tapes.

I’m cool with the all black gear at Raws & B PPVs
On a side note, really don’t dig Ambrose in Gray skinny jeans with him tucking them in his boots....much prefer blue jeans
