His death hit me pretty hard. I’ve been listening to Mac since the summer of 2011 when I discovered the song “Best Day Ever”. I saw him in concert twice and met him in Atlanta. He’s been my favorite artist for a long time now, and I’m curious of how everyone else feels about his music and him in general?

I am oldschool, not much new rap I dig, so I never much listened to his stuff, but remember him from the MTV show. Anyone dying that makes an impact in even one person's life is a loss for the world.

I’m a big fan and was really taken back when he passed. Normally I don’t get phased by celebrity or musician deaths but this one hit me for some reason.
Music wise I’d say I’m a bigger fan of his earlier stuff than his more recent songs though self care is really good.

I honestly couldn’t name a single song he sang.

Not a fan of the Genre and i've only listened to one of his songs (When i looked him up after his passing)
I won't say he's bad but again, i'm just not a fan of the Genre. I will say he's better than all those 2011 Xbox Username Rappers with all the XXX's and crap in their name, and that joke Tekashi.

I thought his music was average. Not great by any means, but also not nearly as bad as the crap we call music in 2018.
On a personal level I can't say it hit me at all whem he died. I mean, yeah young guy, so sad and all that. But he did it to himself. I don't feel sympathy for anyone that does that way. He made a choice. You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. And this fool won the grand prize of foolishness.
I'm sorry for his parents. No parent should have to do that. But him? Nope.

I was never a fan of his music, but the man did a hell of a lot for his hometown. My hometown. Same as Wiz. So I have mad respect for him, even if I didn't care for his music and he was gone far too soon.

Great guy, good music, gone to soon and anyone who says they don’t feel bad for him because he chose to do drugs clearly never has struggled with or known anyone with an addiction or depression. Look up interviews with him he openly talks about his demons trying to help others while he was trying to win a battle of his own.

Dude sucked and everyone forgot about him until he died.
That’s when all the “he helped me so much through high school” posts came out.

Wasn’t really a huge fan of him. But, what I liked the most was that he was different from a lot of the rappers out there. As he wasn’t a gangster rapper so someone like myself could relate to his music. Best Day Ever definitely his best album. Also, shortly before his death I really took to his most recent project Swimming. You could really hear him mature on this project and experiment with new sounds.
