Hello all, after watching Wade Barrett in "I am Vengeance, " I was wondering whom yall think is the best wrestling (former/current) actor/actress? Is there a best movie featuring them?
WB impressed me highly in this one, as did Edge in "Bending the Rules." Hulk has always been atop this list for his gifts to my childhood with his flicks, but knowingly not so for everyone. I wasn't extremely impressed with Austin, or Cena (I cannot be partial about Cena though), Rock is good (not the be all end all for me), Goldberg is ok, Sting needed a better vehicle to showcase his talents that I could actually sit through, and never saw the Kane, Orton, Ambrose, Batista, Big Show, H, Dolph, and RVD ones to make a judgement.
I look forward to yalls thoughts. Happy Holidays.

Obviously Rock is the first one that comes to mind. Batista has done well since venturing into movies, too.

I think the Rock sucks. He’s essentially the same character in every movie - “The Rock”
I think Cena is hilarious, honestly. I loved him in Trainwreck

Roddy Piper was the lead in a film that is considered one of the greatest films of all time with They Live. So I think to a degree the best wrestling actor is Piper because he carried the film. The entire thing rested on his acting. And while Piper didn't have that many screen credits he did do a damn good job with They Live. Carpenter said the film was a failure because people didn't want to be enlightened.
Jesse Ventura while is great in Predator, I feel like he is just playing himself. He isn't doing that much acting. So for me his best performance is The Running Man.
Speaking of playing ones self and people not wanting to be enlightened, The Rock! Dwayne Johnson has made a successful career in Hollywood (as in he has made a lot of money and had good turn out at the box office) notice I didn't say acting. I've only seen two films with The Rock but I can go out on a limb and say that he plays the same character in all of his films.

I'd say The Rock just for his long success and how long he's been doing them now.
My personal favorite though is Piper. You could tell he took acting seriously and it showed with the movies he was in. They Live being the obvious film. Just gold.
How about Hogan? No love for classics like Santa with Muscles or Mr Nanny??!! lol

The ones that just feel like natural actors are The Rock, Piper, and Cena.

The Rock is the most successful obviously but I think Batista has been the most convincing in the roles he has done. He did really well in his roles in Bond, Bladerunner, and GOTG. But Piper was great in They Live. Tiny Lister plays the same kind of role in most of his movies but he does it so well!

I'm biased so I'll say Piper. He was even good in "Hell Comes to Frogtown" and his other films. "Jungleground" is underrated. There is a movie called "Clear Lake" that was never really seen, Roddy was awesome in this. However the whole movie is on YouTube. Here is the trailer:
Rod's last movie "The Chair" was pretty good. Very NSFW prison film and Roddy plays a bastard jail guard.
I like Ventura in the films he did and I think he could have gone further as a movie star.
Like it was said, The Rock is the same in every movie but I still enjoy them.
