I'm curious to find out everyone's favourite year of WWE. Mine's either 2007 or 2000. How about your guys'?

It's tough for me to pick one specific year but I can tell you my favorite span which is 87-94.

I'm just curious what you like about 2007 because I felt like it was one of the worst years in modern history. Totally respect your opinion because one of my favorite years is 1993 which isn't too popular, it's just that the general consensus seems to be that 2007 isn't a favorite among wrestling fans. Cena never lost. Great Khali as champion. And the whole Benoit tragedy which really put a black cloud over the whole damn industry. 1993 1994 2002 1998 1997

It's tough for me to pick one specific year but I can tell you my favorite span which is 87-94. I’d probably trim that down to 89-92. I started watching in 92 (the rumble that year was the first event I ever saw - and what a way to kick off!!!) and the first video’s I got were the events in 1989. So difficult to name a specific year but the years I mentioned were the most consistent for delivering great PPV’s in my opinion.

I thought 'Taker/ Batista was great along with Cena/Shawn. I thought Rated-RKO was awesome as well. And, Edge also had a great 2007 by moving to Smackdown.

It has to be somewhere between the mid 80’s-early 90’s, but without going back and reading what PPV’s were each year I couldn’t say which year was my absolute favorite because I have been watching the WWE since the mid 70’s until now so years blend together now. lol

1987 1989 1990 1992 1993 (mostly for sentimental reasons, my first full-time year as a kid) 1997
Edit: Also I'll add since I've gone back and rewatched a lot of what I saw as a kid, even though 1996 overall as a year isn't so hot, the first three months of 1996 building up to a surprisingly great Mania is one of my favorite periods ever. Those Raws with the top stars at the time (Bret, Shawn, Diesel, Taker, Razor, an incoming Vader, Bulldog/Owen, debut of Austin) are so well done (even if most of the rest of the year after Mania falls off a cliff).

Firstly, always a pleasure to meet another 1993 fanboy. We are few and far between, but it's forever a loyal brotherhood. I also agree with your last part. There are years that I genuinely do not care for at all, but absolutely love specific spans or blocks. 2008 is a year that I do not personally consider to be one of my favorites, but I absolutely LOVED January through Wrestlemania because I attended the Royal Rumble at MSG with a bunch of my close wrestling buddies then we flew to Orlando in March for Wrestlemania XXIV. The whole weekend was like some amazing wrestling party especially with it being Ric Flair's fairwell (for the most part). I even remember all of us getting together to watch the February PPV (Elimination Chamber?) because everybody was so excited about going to WM the next month and wanted to be on top of all the feuds and storylines. It just felt like we were all happily strolling down an actual yellow brick Road to Wrestlemania. I have no sentimental feelings for wrestling in 2008 from April on, but damn if I could relive those first three months again because they were so much fun. The Giants winning the Superbowl during that span didnt hurt either.

Back on topic, When I think of 96 WWF I think of Austin's rise to the top and the classic Taker/Mankind feud. Both made 1996 very enjoyable to me.

My favorite span was 1987-1991, but I would say 1990 would be my favorite year from that period

Any year from 1986-1991 would top my list with 1991 holding a special place in my heart because that was the year that really hooked me on wrestling. 1992 was a good year but you could see it going downhill and what was to come. 1993 was an interesting year, still really good probably the last year the WWF had a good tag team division until the late 90s. Also, 1993 was the year they really started going with the overly gimmicked characters which would last till the attitude era. 1994-96 was hard to watch, the top tier talent was very good at this time but what it was lacking during this time was depth - and a tag team division. 1997-1999 were good years, not because the WWF was so great but because you could go back and forth from WWF and WCW at that time. Once WCW went under wrestling got pretty boring.

1990 was so packed with hall of famers and legends. That's easily my favorite year

1988 for me. That was the year I went to my first house show and became a full-fledged, card-carrying rabid professional wrestling fan.

Gosh hard to pick a favorite year, maybe 1987? Ricky Steamboat broken larynx was scary as a little kid and of course Hulk vs. Andre, and later Dibiase coming in causing a ruckus. Rock n'Wrestlin cartoon was still around. Ah the memories.

Favorite time span 97-00. Also loved the early 90s and mid to late 80s. Unforutnately for the latter I didn't watch it live as it happened for the most part.
Favorite single year is a toss up between 97 and 98. Man was wrestling awesome during those years. Sometimes it makes me sad that it will never be that good again.

The year 2000. The company was just firing on all cylinders the whole 12 months. Especially January to May. Legit some of the best television ever produced in entertainment.
