It was so strange that Basic 2-packs series 2 was the first one a lot of us found. Kmart was loaded with them in January of 2010, but I didn't find the first one until awhile in.
My very first Mattel figure was Basic Series 0 ("Signature Series") Jericho. One of my exes got it for me as a gift, which was really nice. It was the purple variant of the blue SAVE_ME Jericho from the 2-pack with Shawn Michaels.
It took me until Elite 4 to come around on Elites. I hated the aesthetics of the ab crunch. Elite 4 was an outstanding set, and it finally sold me on Elites going forward.

I was a big Jakks fan for many years, but I had kept up to date on the info about the mattel wwe figs leading up to the release date. I was excited because I could already tell yhe deco and scale seemed waaaaaaaay better just by the protos etc
I went to my TRU on 1/1 and they had basic 1 and the first two packs. I got basic HHH and the HBK/y2J two pack. My first elite was a little later abd that was the first elite Punk

I remember going to walmart on the 3rd I think and grabbing wrestlemania heritage Orton and E1 Edge. At first I was sceptical of the line, but as soon as I got that first elite in my hands I knew things were coming up Milhouse

The first Elite Seth and Dean got me collecting. I loved Tyler Black in ROH and at that time he may have been my favorite performer after Aj in TNA. So I needed that figure and got Dean to get all of the shield. That just opened the flood gates.

A Target locally broke street and put on shelf day after Christmas. Thought about buying every single one they had but the window was too small to move them. Plus I am not a d*ck whistle...

We first saw an outline of hbk and it looked awful and 99.9% of the basics still are. The elite legends i first purchased at double the cost of a jakks figure. Most of the early leg joints popped off. I probably have 500 or more elites now but i still wish mattel never got the licence. The prices are ridiculous still and anyone who doesnt realize its all crap compared to even tna figs from 10 or 15 years ago doesnt know much at all I don't understand this logic at all. You clearly don't like the figures much, yet you've spent thousands on them.

I had been out of even watching wrestling for a few years and Mattel not only brought me back to the toys but also to the tv product. I was not there from day one. I saw them on the shelves but it wasn't until probably mid summer of 2010 that I bought my first figure, Elite 3 John Cena. Then Elite 4 came out and I got them all. I know the scan wasn't optimal but I loved that John Morrison and I found both variants. He along with Elite 4 Big Show sealed it for me.

Elites were only £12.99 each then. I got Punk, 'Taker and Mysterio in one go. If I bought three elites now, it would cost £60 plus.

I remember being wowed out of my mind. It was overwhelming with all the lines. Unfortunately it happened when I didn’t have much money, had a bunch of ra figures, and disinterested. I didn’t start until I saw them in person in 2010 when I got the EG figures and legends.

The toys r us in Charlottesville, VA sold me all of basic series 1 2 days after Christmas. I found the rest on new years day in Richmond. That was a fun time. Especially when the signature series and battle packs 2 started popping up within a couple of weeks.
