It's funny how a lot of people are all over themselves and so happy that talent is running the front offices but yet these are the same people who got all upset that the McMahons and HHH book themselves to win and promos and whatnot. Because if wrestling has taught anyone anything, letting the talent have so much creative control and whatnot worked out VERY well for WCW! I think you're oversimplifying a lot. Hunter is the only McMahon who is/was a full time wrestler, despite them being a focal point of the show going back to the 90's. And in WCW you had guys like Hogan and Nash who were past their prime and looking to protect their spot to make as much money as possible with as little work as they could at the expense of younger workers. The Elite guys are all in their prime. They don't really have any other stars beyond Jericho right now. There are plenty of mistakes they can make, and the risk of not building new stars is always there for every company. But every situation is unique. I have a lot of questions and concerns about these guys' abilities as bookers, managing a locker room full of their friends, their business experience, etc. But everything has to be taken at its own merits, and most comparisons I see to TNA or WCW completely ignore the fact that this is a very different business environment than 10-20 years ago. While you're right about triple h booking himself victories to a point to where I'm ready to throw up these days if he main events, you're also wrong about Nash. He was absolutely in his prime in wcw.

According to a report from WrestleTalk, AEW's schedule for 2019 will look like this: May 25 – Double Or Nothing at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas June 2019 – Unspecified show (believed to be in USA) July 2019 – Unnamed show in Jacksonville, Florida, with a portion of the proceeds going to anti-gun crime charities August 2019 – Royal Albert Hall, London, England September 2019 – All Out – the official sequel to All In and the full launch of the brand prior to TV tapings beginning. We understand that while not yet confirmed, this is again likely to take place at the Sears Center in Chicago October 2019 – Weekly television starts Jericho Cruise 2, January 2020. Yep. I so wish I could afford to go on the cruise.

In the latest Double or Nothing video Cody teases his opponent, but the card is blurred. But, look on the cabinet behind him. When he comes in and plays with the dog there are some funko pops there of the elite guys. In the very next shot (and purposely in frame) a new figure is added in a pot that wasn’t there before. What figure is it? Is it a clue or just some poor continuity?

that Jericho cruise would be a lot of fun. like the fyre festival of wrestling if the fyre fest hadn’t bombed.

So apparently whatever tickets were leftover from the pre sale sold out in 4 minutes.
I'm definitely going to the Jacksonville show since it's so close and I'll aim to go to All Out for when they do Chicago again. I'm curious where they do TV, though. If it's going to be Florida based initially then I might skip All Out and just figure out how to go to the tapings on a semi regular basis.

I’m so glad I was able to get my tickets early on Sunday night. Much easier than getting them during the presale or anything 😂

That's insane, if they could have got the T-Mobile arena (about 5000 more seats), they would have sold that out as well.

Even with all the hype, I'm a little shocked how strong ticket interest was. If they can keep that kind of interest through October, having full arenas and strong crowd reactions will go a long way towards helping their tv product look "major league" to any casual/new viewers they can draw in.

What figure is it? Is it a clue or just some poor continuity? Black trunks? Black hair? Marty? Somewhere in this thread someone claimed his deal with ROH ends in April. Beats me if it’s true, but they have this storyline going where Cody is BFF with MJF and thinks Marty is gone or dead or whatever.

Conrad must've made some serious bank from Starrcast 1 and all those damn t-shirt sales.

They just signed Bea Priestly. Finally a woman wrestler I've heard from and am very familiar with. I first watched her in WhatCulture Pro Wrestling and was a fan ever since. She grew into her look and character so Im looking forward to what she does

When they tried to be a "Oh lets book dream matches " promotion, thats where my interest in it waned. Like i said, it had a couple of gems. Bea Priestly is one of them. I saw Tegan Nox from there as well. They had a lot of the guys from ICW i enjoyed. Fun promotion for a while. The website.........yeah f*** What Culture

Thats another thing that annoyed me about it. The guys running it (who started Cultaholic), put themselves on TV/YouTube for the longest. Like other than Adam Biampied being a good annoying heel, i didnt care for the others. Focus on your videos or you booking, dont need you on TV. The commentary was horrid til they added Alex Shane there. Forgot the other guy, but WAY better than King Ross

I love those guys, and Cultaholic. I miss Blampied though. Pacitti was annoying as hell on WhatCulture, but they tried using storylines in their videos, now with Cultaholic they're all themselves and particularly Pacitti has been great IMO.
