Where is everyone? Why is no one discussing this show? It’s not the actual show yet

Hangman winning was as predicted and tells a good story. It begs the question of who was going to win it before Pac backed out of their match.

this video was #1 trending on YouTube for several hours today and is currently at #8.
Cody answers some stuff about the HHH throne spot, Moxley, his brother and his match amongst other things.

I like the media scrums, really good idea. Generates lots of clicks on YouTube and basically serves for a promo for the next show without any real production cost

AEW has been killing it with their YouTube content. Double or Nothing was almost entirely built upon that social media platform and it really worked in terms of hype and storytelling. I love how they did these post-show press interviews with Cody, Dustin Jericho, and Khan. It definitely gives the product more of a sports vibe but I also really appreciate for the most part how real everyone comes off in those interviews. It's amazing watching Cody in the Road to Double or Nothing videos playing up the self righteousness of his character and then seeing that post-match interview where he seems very humble and sincere with his intentions on making AEW a legitimate alternative. I was one of the people that thought the throne hammering was a bit over the top but his explanation for why he did it makes sense. Everyone involved seems very passionate and that should go a very long way in making AEW a success.

So was the original plan for Pac to fight Kenny for the first championship match? I would be excited to watch it but we all know the regular talent wins the title so would anyone believe Pac wins?
also does anyone know if Kong is on the roster now?

If AEW gets close to two million viewers with their first TNT show and that's feasible with the network they have, the good shows they will have had by then(they have at least 3 more) and the buzz then WWE should worry. But then again after wcw started the red hot nwo angle in the summer of 96, wwe still didn't completely change until they had an awful Raw in early 97 when half the show was in England and the other half was in the US.

I honestly see AEW doing 1.5 million on their first episode, they'll dip down to maybe 800k-900k viewers before finding their way and they'll eventually start averaging 1 million to 1.5 million a week. I disagree that they should be on for 2 hours. They should have started at 1 hour, build the fanbase, then go up to 2 hours. Though I'm a big fan of their roster so far, its still not strong enough for a 2 hour show yet.

Plus knowing the roster, 1 of those 2 hours can consist of an hour long match lol.

Plus knowing the roster, 1 of those 2 hours can consist of an hour long match lol. I know you're kidding, but honestly that might not be super far from the direction they go. If you want to distinguish your product from WWE, in ring product may actually be the easiest way to do that. Raw had literally something like a minute of in-ring time in the first hour., and everybody knows that the show is always going to open with a half hour talking segment Give guys 20 minutes to go out there and get over, and see what happens. We've become so conditioned to the WWE style of matches. I've been loving Impact over the past year-plus, but my biggest complaint is that they follow the WWE style of 8-10 minute matches all crammed into an hour show. I'd love to see what some of the mid card talent could do with tv time. My only concern is that they have a very green roster overall. And you have to do it without giving away PPV matches. But I think that people forget that one of the hallmarks of NWA/WCW were tear down the house, star making performances from guys who weren't at the top of the card. The WWE style of agenting/producing a match cramps the style of the lower-mid card guys so that the top of the card can shine.

I was actually half kidding. I can definitely see the Bucks, Cody, or Omega having long tv matches on the show. Shouldn't happen every week, but whoever is worried about lack of big roster hurting the two hour show, shouldn't be.

I feel AEW should be creative with the format of the shows. Like a couple of weeks, just open up with a quick 6-7 match, or whenever something big happened the week before, open up with a segment. Switch it up a bit instead of the same 20 min promo, then match
