Matches tonight have been lackluster sans Page/Pac but the Jericho/MJF promo made up for them.

I love closing with the tag title match. Every belt should be a big deal and not just a prop.
Side note, AEW has done a great job building SCU. In a month they've made them look like legit stars. In ROH they never stood out at all to me. Goes to show how good booking can make a world of difference.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about having the rankings and #1 contenders, but then randomly someone else just sort of jumps in line for a title shot. The same thing happened when Darby got a title match when Cody had been established as the #1 contender.

What a sloppy match, Jericho just can’t go at that pace anymore, it looks so bad when guys gotta slow down for him. Stop putting him in the ring with these guys that can go like that! Cody was the perfect guy for him. I really don’t know who else he can have a good match with at this point.

How many times did JR call Hager “Swagger”? I feel like I heard him say it multiple times

How many times did JR call Hager “Swagger”? I feel like I heard him say it multiple times JR is notorious for getting names wrong. Even 30+ years back he'd call a Road Warriors match and mix up their names constantly. I've never been a JR fan.

JR buried the show multiple times during the evening. My favorite line was "Didn't even give time for the glue on the horseshoe to dry."

That Jericho and MJF promo was some of the best promo exchange I think I’ve seen in years. I was laughing out loud for most of the segment. Not chuckling. Hyena laughing.
Liked Jericho taking the pin. Made a random tag match stick out. Plus, I think Scorpio would have a great match with Jericho.
The Luchasauras return was awesome. Glad he’s back and I’m excited to see them get going as intended. Jack and Lucha together is can’t miss for me in tag action. Not so much with Marko.
Thought PAC/Hangman was great. They definitely have Booker/Benoit Best of 7 chemistry.

MJF and Jericho referred to Cody as "Cody Rhodes" multiple times. I hope Cody either somehow got the rights back or legally changed his last name to Rhodes- hey why not?

MJF & Jericho alone are better talkers than the whole entire WWE roster...

He changed his legal name a long time ago now. This is the first time I've heard him referred to as Cody Rhodes in America since he left however. He's come out introduced as Cody Rhodes in AAA and What Culture.

JR saying fully loaded multiple times during the night was giving me flashbacks to HHH vs Jericho last man standing match in 2000 lol.
Not the best show tonight but pretty decent, Glad Pac won, the dinosaur guy always looks good so nice to see him back and the Jericho MJF promo was gold.

I thought overall this show was great. Lot more focus on angles and character building with shorter matches, and you need that when you're trying to establish storylines. I know people are arguing how slow Jericho is and he can't go - but what he brings in experience and notoriety is invaluable for this young company. He's doing exactly what he needs to do as a veteran, so wasn't surprised in the least that he took the clean pin. Scorpio is going to be one of their future breakout stars.
I love Luchasaraus! I saw a shoot with him and he actually has a Masters in medieval history of all things lol. He totally got an LOD-pop. Ditch Marko and the Jurassic Express is a great act for the tag division.
All AEW really needs to do is get that belt of Riho and put it on a more credible woman to be the face of the division. Otherwise, there's a little something for everyone on this show.

Jericho eating the pin there was exactyl what needed to happen. SCU couldn't lose, they don't want to really on junk finishes too often, and they already used one to remove Spears from the triple threat match earlier. Guevara really shouldn't have taken the fall there if he's going to stay in the inner circle, he's taken a fair amount of L's already. Scorpio is absolutely going to be the breakout singles guy from SCU, and they're really working hard to establish him in that way. JR was alluding to it during commentary too saying how everyone in the match should be wanting to have Jericho's title. Riho I think can have the title for a while yet. Regardless of the criticism, can't deny the crowd reactions, and the live crowds freaking love Riho. Sure seems like it's gonna be Kong to take the belt off her eventually, which would definitely be credible. Can keep it on Riho for a bit longer yet though to let Brandi/Kong go a bit deeper with their new gimmick.

My only real complaint is that the match was a little short on time and didn't get to build the crowd as much as I'd have liked. A little more build and I think Sky's win REALLY pops the crowd. I still have questions around their booking. But the ability to turn nobodies into stars in a matter of weeks has impressed me. Even a guy like Dillinger is far more compelling than he ever was in NXT or WWE.
