Killer Khan
This big Mongolian would begin his journey with this gimmick in the late 70s.He would have a brief stint in CWF with him having a run with the tag belts before heading to GCW for another brief stint. He would then make his way to Mid-South with his main feud being against future rich man Ted Dibiase.Khan would try his hand in getting the North American belt from em but in the end failed to do so.From there it was on the most famous run of his career and that was the WWF.. He would target then WWF Champ Bob Backlund but like before would fail to win gold. His biggest feud would come in 1981 as he would face Andre The Giant with him kayfabe breaking his ankle. In reality Andre broke it getting out a bed.Big deal here as this made Khan into a massive threat going forward.Andre vowed revenge and with that the two would have the big showdown in Philly in a ''Mongolian Stretcher'' match in which Andre would prevail.Khan would leave the company not long after this feud ended. He would find his way back to Mid-South in which he would have little runs with the Louisiana and Mississippi belts. From there it was on to Stampede Wrestling in which he would have another small reign as a champ in the form of the North American Heavyweight Title. He would then head to WCCW as once again would be managed by Skanda Akbar. He would mainly be involved with the Freebirds during their infamous feud with the Von Erichs. This would end when Khan would turn on em which would lead to a big showdown between him and Terry Gordy in late 84.Following this run he would head back to Japan for the next few years before arriving back at in the WWF in 1987 in which this would be the end of the line as far as his career goes. The most notable feud during this run was with Hogan in which he would spit the mist in his face on the Snake Pit with the 2 having rounds on the house show circuit with Khan failing to win the big one.He would have a match with Randy Savage on PTW late in the year with him being gone by the time 88 rolled around and with that he would retire. Overall.... I didnt mind Khan. Thought he played the monster heel role fine. The stuff with Andre in WWF and Freebirds in WCCW will always be the standouts to me. What are your memories/thoughts of Killer Khan? share them below!

Excellent Brain, thanks so much.
I first saw Khan in squash matches on classic WWF. I remember reading about him breaking Andre’s ankle and was fascinated by him since (and was a huge feature in a fantasy fed that I used to write). An excellent write up.

I guess he was a guy whose fame was based on only being around for a short period of time. 1980s WWF saw more guys last a longer amount of time and like you said he was pretty much done after that so I guess he didn't want to be a long term guy. He owns a restaurant and is friendly to fans showing up. He's a guy who always fascinated me because he was around during such a short period of time in WWF. He had a cool look but I guess he was only destined to be a "monster of the month" for Hulk or Andre and once he loses, he moves on.

Was Hade Vansen ever discussed here? He had one vignette where he was supposed to feud with The Undertaker and he was never seen again.
