Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes the Pain are tied for me. The SvR series was always hot garbage with a neverending stream of bad ideas being introduced and then swapped out for other bad ideas (a tradition that's carried over into the current games) and to me HCTP was the last game that felt like it had any soul. You could tell the developers were having fun with that one and immediately with SVR you could feel the US side of development strangling any creativity Yuke's had in the name of making a simulation when nobody on the US side actually understood pro wrestling to begin with (another tradition that's carried over into the current games).

SVR 2007 for me because it was the first Wrestling video game I’ve ever bought. The roster, GM Mode, season mode, the soundtrack all of it was so well done. I recently picked up the original SVR game and in my opinion it’s a very underrated game.

SD:SYM if for no other reason than my previously mentions issues with never finding a working copy of HCTP.
I lived in a party house in Toledo at the time. My PS2 was the house system, and it was... magical. It required a very specific sort of percussive maintenance that only people living in the house knew how to perform. If you didn't do it right, it ate your game in seconds. We hid the games during parties, and we always made a point of telling guests that the PS2 was broken. Nobody ever tried to steal it.
Anyway, that particular game, I believe, was the one with Star Wars CAWS. And it was a Star Wars themed party house.
Long story short, ALL the Star Wars leads got made (And Dark Helmet, for SnG), and one of the favorite pastimes of the household was having Darth Maul beat the crap out of Jedi with a sledgehammer. The catchphrase was "NOT THE HAMMER, MAUL!" and it got said frequently.
Good times.

Sym easily. Just the sheer fun of the game. Needing to grapple every single time to do a move in hctp is a major gripe of mine. And the fun entrances, climbing stages, how easily the tables were to work, being able to freeze and circulate during finishers, being able to stop a taunt when you need to. It was all just never done so good again.

SVR 2007 brings back so many good memories and happy times playing it with my childhood best friend. I thought it was the coolest game ever. Seeing all the arenas visualized in video game forum. GM Mode, Season Mode, Create your superstar. The presentation was on point. Loved the soundtrack. I thought the lockeroom deal was the coolest feature ever. Just nothing but good ass times. The loading was a mofo though.
SmackDown Here Comes the Pain, SmackDown Shut Your Pain, the initial SVR are all good and fun games too.

The 2 games i notice that my brother and I always go back to are here comes the pain and svr 2006. Occasionally we will play shut your mouth or just bring it but definitely the first two id say are our top favorites.

That being said, SVR07 made some notable improvements to SVR06, namely the ultimate control moves and quick grapple moves. The crowd area was a bonus as well. Sadly all of the good CAWs were made on the Xbox 360 port that year and the PlayStation 3 port never came to be, leaving Sony loyalists in the dust. I've tried recreating 360 formulas, but it is not 1:1.

SYM, HCTP, and SVR 06 are the only ones I still can play for longer than 30 minutes. I’m really hoping this next series of games will have GM mode back

Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. Nothing beats this game where you can make 500 wrestlers of whoever you want. Nothing comes close!

I’m loving Shut Your Mouth right now. The season mode is simple but so fun.
That being said I really truly love 2007 and I’m sure once I play Here Comes The Pain my love for that will sky rocket again.

I think it's the omissions from the roster, such as Jericho, Angle, Christian, etc.

I love the story mode as well but that was definitely building upon what 2006 did.

If there was a way to include those stars and if I had a 360 rather than a ps2 (better CAWs were made on that system), then I'd probably think it was better than 06 by a landslide. The addition of quick grapples is what fixed the gameplay for me. It was always frustrating having to essentially grapple twice just in the hopes of hitting one move.
