Any match that the Observer gave 4.5 is 5 star in my book. A hidden gem is Orton vs Foley on pay per view in 2004 Backlash 2004.....I absolutely LOVE that match. Foley worked the magic he used on HHH in 2000 all over again with Orton. Fantastic. |

i just wanna say, i think making dave meltzer the end all-be all of wrestling star ratings, is absolutely terrible. if you love a match, and he hates a match, doesnt make it true in either direction.
that being said, ill add two matches to this list... ive seen austin/hart from wrestlemania 13 mentioned, and it truly is a spectacular match with tremendous storytelling. but ive always enjoyed their match from survivor series 1996 a little better. the other is bret/perfect from summerslam 91. i havent had a chance to re-watch it to give a rating yet, but considering i give this match all the credit in the world for me still being a wrestling fan 28 years later, im sure it'll hold up well. i dont know if they should be 5 stars on the meltzer system, but like i said, its all subjective. and any ideas for wrestling matches to watch while im sitting around bored, are always great... so ill repay the favor a bit.
