That to me is why I questioned originally if this could all be a dumb series of mistakes or misunderstandings. Like if you were going to rip people off again and again, why not credit these people as you are doing it and continue to get money out of suckers? But apparently they were too lazy in their scam process that they couldn’t be bothered to credit people providing them pictures and information. They are stupid one way or the other.

They still haven’t responded to anything on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.

I haven't been following updates on this anymore. But how could this book not be out? its seems like its been well over a year since I first heard about it? Again. I don't know everything about it. Is it just 1 man working on it? I have no clue but seems kinda crazy.

The updates are this:

-They claim there were mistakes on the printed sample and wanted to fix them.
-They set goals and dates and failed.
-They have used their social media to post things not really related to the book and started deleting any negativity or criticism.
-The guy “in charge” has said that his team is doing all the work but he is still working an hour here and there to get it done but blames “a new addition to the family” for his lack of free time. Seeing that phrase makes me wonder if he got a dog, if he lives in his Mom’s basement and she got a new boyfriend, or if in fact he had a human child.
-When proving updates several weeks ago, he still took a shot at the small handful of people who were being negative over this. My opinion hasn’t changed: Give me the product you promised and that I paid for or refund me. Simple.

Any updates on this?

Pat Contri managed to release his NES book on every official nes game which along with pictures and writings on the game had to have every game played at least long enough to do a decent review and that's had multiple reprints

I don't understand what delays a book on a toy line so long since there's already a lot of info known on them and there's hardly an essay per figure?

I love how the scammer came on and said a small amount of people are upset by the project. I co-run a large hasbro Facebook group and I haven’t encountered a single backer/non backer that’s pleased with any aspect of this goof.

I don’t care. I can only imagine how long it would take to actually get your order shipped to you.

Nothing in my mailbox, still a fraud to me.

Even if he comes through, his reputation is burnt and I am happy to never ever read any of his mails and updates again.

You're right. What he has now is a sample copy that he's editing. I think that proves it's not a "scam" and that he's trying to create a finished physical book, however, it doesn't have a thing to do the books actually getting printed and sent out as promised. He probably should have waited until it was nearly finished or he had finished copies in hand before posting.

I was sort of involved until late last year (just being part of the discussions/chat about topics in the book, and editing a few early things like parts of the KS page and maybe one or two early sample pages of the book). I removed myself because it seemed more like an opinion piece in some places rather than a retrospective, there was delay after delay, and, the author of the book didn't seem familiar with the process of creating, editing, publishing, or printing a book. Just my opinion. At this point, I don't know why he'd be anything but appreciative of the project backers since they waited this long—except you specifically got a smarmy response when commenting on something that should have gone out a long time ago.

I really hope this gets out there. It probably will but it may be awhile. It's going to be a great piece for us collectors/fans if it ever does get out.
