I got your book for Christmas, it's great. Well done. Will buy the other one too. But the one with this thread, if it ever comes out...I don't like the author. Too aggressive and petty. I'd paid up for it, asked for a refund, he ignored me.

The “author” noted today that it’s here, and that “nice people get theirs first”
What a petty, petty person. This could have been a great experience for backers. Currently there are two other books out there: I’d recommend them both over this.

I was never going to win over the majority of people here. That was clear the moment Kickstarter went live. This project was brought together with the love of figures which might just be tainted for me now. The number of unhappy backers/buyers (not spectators) was minimal. The book has sold great numbers and I'm excited for it to get out there. I'm also happy to dispel all the talk of it being a scam and how I've stolen all the money. None of that was based on any fact.
This book took on a life of its own. More people came out of the woodwork with their items, collections, stories and more. People who have no interest in forums and or the internet and items that haven't been seen before. Was I over my head? Without a doubt - that's why I got a team together to try and help me get this together. I've worked on some of the biggest music releases of the last 15 years but never done anything like this on my own. Eric was a great help and I'm thankful for the help and guidance he gave to the project. It's disappointing to read his thoughts now. That goes for everyone else who was involved. Nick, Myself and Adam have spent hundreds of hours on this over the last two years.
I'm fully appreciative of the people who backed the project and pre-ordered on the store. I'm not appreciative of personal attacks, rumours, lies and other unpleasant comments that I wouldn't expect said to me in-person so why say it here? Even worse from spectators that are just saying things for the sake of it. It's natural instinct to be frustrated by this has spilt over from time to time. For every one of those, there was many more with messages of support which was encouraging.
This is completely different from Kev's book (which is awesome btw). I know he's been critical of the project at points. I really enjoyed his book and you can see the dedication and love he has for the figures which is awesome. This book is A4, 390 pages and has a weight close to 2kg.
I'm currently in the process of signing the 300 that have landed at my house which means even more late nights! There's over 1000 landed at the distribution centre for the store orders.
This project has been a massive emotional rollercoaster and I've learnt a lot along the way. Would I do things differently next time? Without a doubt. A lot different to be honest. I would have loved to have had positivity all the way through but that wouldn't happen with any project.
Once this is done and dusted I've been approached for a second project for an official toy line which I'm super excited about and been approached about revisiting my 'History of Football Management Simulation' idea from a few years back. I've toyed with the idea of another book in the WFR series (that was always my plan) but I don't know if I can take that again.
Regardless of if you've been a lover of the project, indifferent or absolutely hated it, thank you. I can now go back to being a collector and a fan.

PS Nice people first was a bad joke - I'll fully hold my hands up there. I say things without thinking.

I was one of the few around here who gave you the benefit of the doubt. I've been around long enough to see how these things go (every time, going back decades), and I know how Kickstarters tend to get, so nothing surprised me about how it kept presenting issues. You can't please everyone and some people cannot be pleased, so don't worry too much. Good luck with it all.

The problem was and still is, you swerved every question put to you, your updates were shambolic and few and far between and to make matters worse, you only ever responded to people with sarcastic or rude comments.
How you’ve managed to pull this off I’m unsure as you’ve been unprofessional all along. Fair play it looks like you may finally delivered on what you set out to do over 2 years ago, but as for your communication and transparency, it’s the pits and I fully understand why you got the crapthrown at you that you did...it was all justified!!!

I can now go back to being a collector and a fan. Congrats on your book! I am not a Hasbro guy at all, so I had no vested interest in the project. I do love LJN wrestling and the WWF in the 80s and 90s so I can appreciate how cool a book about these toys can be. That said, from reading this thread... I think 2 big things that turned this sour was: 1. A lack of positive update considering the delays and situations in play. Perhaps just quarterly posts on your media accounts (forums, Insta, twitter) etc... letting people know how things were going and giving a teaser so they see things are happening 2. Credit where it's due. It looks like information or pics were used without citation. It doesn't take much to give a shout out or credit when it's due. Remember, you're working with a community and then going to sell that same community something. Positive relationships and customer service are key. But I digress. Good luck in the sales and if I happen upon a copy, I will definitely take a look

Ok, I finally give up hope to ever receive anything from this guy. I have baked on KS for a book and reduced to a ebook. Nothing ever showed up nor does he react to any of my messages. If you don’t want people to have an ebook, don’t offer it. This guy appears unprofessional from day 1, hence my reduction to an ebook.

Actually my hard copy arrived in the post today. This surprised me as given Covid there’s virtually no international flights coming into Australia to carry air freight as cargo. BTW. I never backed the Kickstarter, but ordered online at the expiration of the Kickstarter.
