I run fishing wire in front of my wrestling figure shelves, just above the figures waist height, virtually invisible and 99% of the time it will stop figures falling off, should they go off balance. I only have "single-file" type displays though (i.e. one figure deep) and I just have them standing straight, no dynamic poses.

And definitely don't rely on those god awful diorama stands. Had Cactus Jack on one and he still fell...and right on top of my Bandai Dragon Ball Z Hybrid figures which are super fragile. Ahhhh Don’t you hate that certain figures feel so fragile you either put them so far in the back of the shelf or put them as close to the floor as possible so that if they fall there’s a 50/50 chance they’ll survive. Once DC Collectables swapped their Icons figures to drop hips those figures became displayed on the bottom base level of my BvS Batcave so if they fell there’d be no distance to drop, because those hips seem so fragile. Exactly. Good thing is all DBZ Hybrid figures come with stands but even those are fragile. Cactus Jack cracked a few of them when he fell.

Dumb luck, I think. You can only sort of tell here, but this ledge is just below ceiling height in my office. Somehow, in the few months since I decided to fully utilize it, I've yet to have anyone take a dive. AJ has come close. I think his vest of somewhat heavy.

Get rid of that sh*tty ankle joint, altogether. The few loose figs I have, are either resting against the wall, or leaning into the one behind. Can't imagine having an entire shelf, full of figs, standing on those useless ankles.

The affordable way that I found to hold all types of figures up is mounting putty. Whenever I have a figure that has a problem standing; I put a little mounting putty on the bottom of the feet. Mounting putty is also significantly cheaper than figure stands, and a little goes a long way. Even when rearranging figures by either replacing or subtracting figures to be displayed; mounting putty is easy to take off and doesn’t create much of a mess.
