I recently pulled the trigger on the Smackdown Live ring. It was $60 on Amazon Warehouse Deals, I couldn't pass it up.
I'll sell the Jinder as I don't collect the new guys, no big deal. (And it'll help pay for probably half the ring.)
Anyway -- I have had the Wicked Cool version for a couple years. It's great but does have its faults. I'm going to keep using it in some fashion as I've spent a bunch on different colored ropes, aprons, steps. I basically have most all combinations, I've even made custom colored setups using ropes in purple, silver, etc. -- although it seems Ringside doesn't do ropes anymore.
That being said, the new Smackdown Live ring seems cool (I haven't received it in the mail yet) but I'll miss that option to customize it. I think I'll like the slightly smaller size most as I can fit in more spots in my collection room. That's the main reason I got it.
Has anyone tried to tinker with the inserts, ropes and aprons to customize it? And which do you prefer?

I like the Raw and Smackdown elite main event rings because they are more to scale (though the ropes are too low) and updated. So I use those when doing modern-day Raw or Smackdown photos (I have a blog where I post photos - see link in my signature for reference). However - for anything other than modern-day Raw or Smackdown I use one of my WCT rings since they are very customizable.

I only own the WCT ring right now, so that will be the only ring I'll use. I vow to never purchase a Mattel Elite ring until they release a Chamber or HIAC play set for it. Even then, those ringposts have better underwent a d*mn growth spurt.
I do wish the ASR turnbuckles and ropes were sturdier. My father had found some rubber bands I used as ropes on my old Jakks Hardcore ring for years. Those things along with the fixed turnbuckles (though being drastically inaccurate) provided more realistic tension than elastic string can ever replicate.

ASR, I like the width of the Mattel Main Event rings, but the posts and base aren't tall enough.

I had a bunch of figures displayed in the ESR but I took it down two years ago for the Christmas tree and never set it back up.

the old Jakks Hardcore ring, only because I have all the things like HIAC, EC, Steel cage for it. would love to up grade it to a Mattel real scale one but not having any of the other stuff to go with it is kinda pointless

I prefer the size and the ability to change skirts, aprons, ropes, posts, and turnbuckles on the ASR/ESR.

I used to use a Jakks Hell In a Cell ring (with the blue mat) as it was bigger and more in scale to the correct size. RSR's are WAY too big. I recently welded up a ring that I use now, very detailed (wood canvas, padding, cloth canvas, metal frame, etc.) Its the exact size I always wanted (18" x 18") that jakks and mattel will never make

I use a ring I made a few years ago out of scrap wood and old t shirts. But I'd like to get the smackdown ring that comes with jinder.

I still don't have a ring. I never see them in person so I don't know what to buy. Though I did finally see a basic ring at Target today for 40 bucks. I was like you gotta be kidding me. For 20 bucks more I could have one of those elite rings off amazon! What a rip.

i use a raw/sd live main event ring combo that removed the ringpost with the light up button so i could raise all the ring posts to make the ropes higher i had red white and blue ropes on it, but then decided it was too loud so i put all black ropes. the size is perfect. but the inaccurate to anything coloring bums me out. i wish mattel would release a main event sized classic ring with corrected rope height

i wish mattel would release a main event sized classic ring with corrected rope height Pretty much the whole reason I've been holding back, alongside the fact I had already gotten the WCT ring and made a bunch of ropes for it in the past. If they could make a classic ring, then I would definitely feel the need to pick one up. I just wonder who they'd inevitably sell with the ring...
