So imagine you're a writer, and Vince tells you that he wants ideas on how Dino Bravo gets a 1-2 month run with the championship belt sometime between 1986 and 1992.
What realistic storyline do you propose?

i could see him working with Hogan for battle over who is the world's strongest man, Hogan (USA) vs Bravo (Canada), and the WWF title belt. But I doubt he would have won the belt. To me the most realistic time would have been a short run with the IC title during Warrior's second reign, Earthquake helps him defeat the Warrior in late 1989, Warrior wins it back at the February 1990 SNME. Though, not sure they wanted anyone to beat Warrior at this time since he was going to beat Hogan at Mania 6. Tough spot to choose.

I'd have em beat Warrior in late 89 large in part due to interference from Quake and Jimmy Hart so it keeps Warrior strong in defeat. Warrior would then win the belt back in February in pretty dominating fashion.

So no debating Vince's idea. Just come up with a storyline or you're FIRED!

In 1988 he had more wins than loses so maybe he could have beat Savage in September and lost it back to him before the year ended?

I dont feel he should have been WWF champ, but maybe IC or Tag champ.
1989: He beats Warrior on SNME for IC title with help from Qauke. Warrior wins it back at the following SNME!
or better yet:
Quake/Bravo beat Hart Foundation for the belts at WM7, then lose them LOD later!

I'd say if he went against Hogan and earthquake interfered. I think 1-2 months would be too long. Hogan would have to get the title back in a week or 2.

I read somewhere that they were toying with the idea of having Dino Bravo face Hulk Hogan at wrestlemania 2?

Bravo had a match with Hogan in '89 at the Montreal Forum and the crowd was overwhelmingly pro-Bravo despite him being the heel.

I get he may have been over in Montreal but he always screamed midcard to me. The closest I think he should have got was helping Earthquake win the title against Hogan, leading to a cage match to negate Bravoβs interference (which Hogan would win and regain the belt).
Even if they treated the belt like a hot potato, I just donβt see him ever holding the main prize.

I think Hogan would have came out on top and wouldn't have looked weak in that or my situation. Key is to have Hogan win it back instantly. A couple weeks at most. Maybe 1 week of promos by Bravo or Earthquake with the belt before the match

Late 1990, Saturday Night's Main Event - WWF Champion Ultimate Warrior vs Dino Bravo. Bravo is in serious trouble til the ref accidentally gets knocked out in the corner.Macho King enters the ring and smashes Warrior with the Scepter, knocking him out. Bravo gets up and puts Warrior in a camel clutch. Jimmy Hart revives the ref, who then checks the now unconscious Warrior and rings the bell!! New WWF Champion Dino Bravo !!! (This also keeps Warrior strong as he wasn't pinned nor did he actually submit).
Post-match Earthquake squashes Warrior 2 times til Hogan comes in and clears the ring. Next weekend on Superstars Jack Tunney announces, due to the actions of Bravo and Earthquake, and Warrior being injured, that Hulk Hogan will Challenge Bravo for the Championship at the Royal Rumble!!
Royal Rumble 1991 - WWF Champion Dino Bravo vs Hulk Hogan. Earthquake keeps interfering and Macho King gets involved til the Ultimate Warrior comes out and takes out Earthquake and runs off Savage, giving Hogan the opportunity to hit the big boot and the leg drop for the 1-2-3 !! your NEW WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan!!
On Wrestling Challenge, Hogan is doing an interview when Bravo comes out and distracts him, allowing Earthquake to blindside Hogan and the 2 beat up on him a bit.
Saturday Night's Main Event February 1991 - Bravo gets his rematch but just when Hogan gets the upper hand Earthquake enters the ring and attacks, giving the DQ win to Hogan. Earthquake squashes Hogan twice before him and Bravo are run off by the Warrior and Texas Tornado
WrestleMania VII - WWF Champion Hulk Hogan vs Earthquake, where Hogan finally gets the pinfall on the big man Ultimate Warrior vs Macho King - Career Ending Match Dino Bravo vs Texas Tornado in a mid-card match

Bravo was WWF Canadian Champion, hmmm...this is a tough one, maybe in 1992 I suppose at the Royal Rumble as it becomes quite shocking as someone unexpected that he wins the title that night. Maybe have him turn babyface after getting roughed up by Flair, Heenan and Perfect after the end of the Rumble. Two months later he drops the title to Ric Flair at a house show.

Not many others wrote something, just that they don't see Bravo as a world champ, just a midcard guy. I see him as a midcard guy as well, but wanted to see how others world write him into the top spot. If Jinder Mahal forks be champ, so can Dino! Great work with the fantasy write up. For the time period it fits and is very believable
