👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 This is fantastic! Not many others wrote something, just that they don't see Bravo as a world champ, just a midcard guy. I see him as a midcard guy as well, but wanted to see how others world write him into the top spot. If Jinder Mahal forks be champ, so can Dino! Great work with the fantasy write up. For the time period it fits and is very believable I disagree. It totally excludes Sgt Slaughter and his title run. Too patriotic of a storyline to not do for Dino Bravo to have a fast Title run. Yeah, but by the time Mania rolled around the angle had lost all it's steam -see the lagging ticket sales that forced them to movie it when they realized they would come nowhere close to selling out the 100,000 seats in the LA Coliseum. Blame the war ending quick and the backlash Vince got for promoting it into an angle. Could've still did the Slaughter turncoat thing... have him feud with Duggan post Royal Rumble... end it with a good old fashioned Flag Match at WrestleMania VII.

Never understood why there was so much backlash, wrestling always mirrored real life, its what they did/do. I mean, they always had bad guys from "foreign lands", especially Russian during the heart of the cold war (early 60s and 80s).

I mean the Cold War was just a standoff basically

I mean the Cold War was just a standoff basically True, but people still died during/because of the cold war. They probably should have ended the storyline at Mania with Hogan beating Sarge. Then Hogan and Warrior could have faced Jake and Taker at Summer Slam which could have ramped up the feuds for the fall, Jake/Warrior and Hogan/Taker.

Damn that's some good booking right there I would've loved to see that tag match instead of the gulf war nonsense which should've ended at WM7.

It's hard to predict if any angle would've worked tbh to pack 100k seats, other than Hulk going heel against the Warrior or something...Besides the war and the question of security at the coliseum, the US was in a recession. Was it worth spending say $50 to go to any wrestling show or stay at home and save that money for groceries? Plus although the recession quickly ended, people were still losing their jobs till June 92.
