They look great - so exciting to see more Retros so quickly The Jeff and Braun cards especially look beautiful I’m not sure about using action photos rather than promotional ones since the Hasbros mostly went with promotional, but I guess they’re going for images of the attire the figure is in rather than anything else. Actually many of the Hasbro figures featured images of the wrestler posing in the ring (see Jake, Andre, Bossman, Doink, Dusty, Hogan 2, etc.). I like that Mattel has used low production photos to match that candid vibe of the Hasbros.

Yes I know, that’s why I was careful to say mostly since they weren’t all promo pics, but the majority were so I think that makes it more noticeable to old guys like me that Mattel are favouring action shots, but it’s not a bad thing in itself, just different - I’d say the Hogan 1 Hasbro card benefits from being an in-ring photo for example since the other three carded releases are promo photos, which makes that first Hogan unique. I like your thinking about it though - it’s a cool way to look at it.

Love these! Happy for Zack Ryder getting his own "Hasbro" figure... he must be thrilled.
A couple of things though:
- it looks like the photo/card of Jeff Hardy is from around '08/'09, not a current pic (...he doesn't have those stretchy ear things)
- it's strange how they can give Braun the correct pants for his Retro figure - but not for his last 2-3 Elites(!)

Everyone keeps talking about a Ryder figure but all I see is a Dave Meltzer figure

Ryder must be so stoked to get this figure. Im surprised (happily) that Hardy isn't the jumper mold.

Look awesome. I was shocked ringside just delayed series 7 when they are already in most stores. I’m sure series 8 will get pushed back too. Yeah, I don't get that. I wonder if Mattel had to stiff ringside in order to get Walmart to pick the line back up by having them hit there first? It sucks that they've been sitting at my Walmart for a week now, but nobody can find them for me. Only 8 are coming in at a time though this time, so once they are out and they sell, what like 2-3 weeks then for a 2nd box to come in? Guessing it will only have one peg now in each store this time around. On the Prichard Show, Bruce would say how this would not fly with Vince at live events with merch. WWE employees would happily tell him they sold out all the shirts or whatever, and Vince would snap. This leaves money on the table. You never want to leave the consumer going back home with a handful of cash. Not sure if this is what Walmart wants to do to prevent any of these from rotting on pegs like Charlotte Flair figures.

All other use promo photos.

Thanks for putting a number on the post-series 1 in-ring cards - I was trying to think of how many I could remember as I was writing that last post just to be sure I was actually right about the promo photos being in the majority I forgot about Nailz and Tornado though

I just realized that it looks like Series 7 is the first set to have all the figures with only the new action features right?? I would say the same for Series 8, but looks like Braun just basically has the old press slam-only with his hands sculpted as fists so more like Yokozuna. And I guess you could say Jericho/Ryder still have the old Macho Man clothesline it looks like. Just with shoulder articulation so maybe technically not lol.

Sheik is cool. I would of been fine with Col Mustafa look as well and would fit in with the hasbro line.

JYD will be cool to have to sorta be closer to that era if we in fact get him. Hope they do a mid 80's Hogan to go with them although I would prefer Hollywood first.

Very nice. Hopefully we continue to get access to these here in the U.K, albeit online.
As a few others have mentioned, I prefer the promo pics on the cards but these all look cool, anyhow.

I really like Jeff Hardy from this set. Braun Strowman looks really cool too and even though I was not going to get into buying modern guys that is one I would probably pick up.
Hopefully, Mattel gets their crap together and make these readily available. I hate it on the Major Wrestling Figure podcast when they call out to people to support this line. Hey I would love to if Mattel made it so I could without having to jump through hoops to find them and actually release them here in the UK. I think this is a line where I would probably buy all of the figures if I actually saw them in person at retail.

Braun's action/look resembles Mountie's action, both his hands were closed fists.
