I loved the head sculpts, but I did not like the plush bodies. You/we should assemble a photo checklist of these so it would be more interesting to discuss. What was the series 3 Undertaker supposed to be? I thought the first release of Taker was the blue-faced one with no tattoos, and the next one was the tattoo one.
And it's nice to meet someone who liked the Maximum Sweats. It's genuinely my favorite line of all time.

Bone Crunchin' Buddies were shown for the first time at Toy Fair in February 1998. A release date wasn't given at the time, but Jakks did confirm names such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Dude Love, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and The Headbangers, who also made an appearance and took a pic with their early prototype buddies. The Headbangers were never released. An early prototype version of HBK can be seen on display in the photo below. Take a glimpse at the early prototype version of Dude Love on display behind Sable. I don't recall ever seeing Austin or Undertaker prototypes, though. Series 1 was first sold at WWF events and house shows in the summer of '98. By August '98, Series 1 was released to stores such as KB, Target, and TRU for $19.99. Months later, during their WrestleMania XV promotion, KB Toys sold the Bone Crunchin' Buddies at 25 percent off the regular price. I'm not sure on a release date for Series 2 (late '98/early '99?), but I know that they were available by mid-March '99 at the latest. According to AFR's Matthew Pearson in late April '99, Series 3 was due to be released in early May '99 with a lineup consisting of Stone Cold Steve Austin (two versions), Undertaker, HHH, Kane, and The Rock. Series 3 had already been out for a while by the time KB Toys marked them down to $14.99 in mid-August '99.

Thanks so much for all the info!Such a shame for the Headbangers,my favorite when i was a kid..I remember being at the store with my mother and she told me that I could take 2: LOD or Stone Cold / Undertaker, a difficult choice, I took the lastest. Even now, they are still at my parents' place

Remember seeing these in Toymaster in the UK back in 1999.

Those LOD 2000 are awesome!! Wow, I forgot about those.
I actually have Dude and Austin (3:16 shirt/tights) in my closet right now.

Those are pretty neat. The tattoos on Undertaker are so accurate but they originated with the Playmates line. Did Jakks have the Playmates WWF license yet? If not, how would they be able to use ("steal") the playmates design of the tattoos?

I still have the series 1 Austin & HBK in great shape put away in storage. I'm not someone who ever gets rid of memorabilia, but when that all eventually gets unpacked, I'll probably sell them.

I have the Dude Love, my old dog hated it! She would lose her mind barking at it until I put it away.

I suspect droz was planned at one point in time because I’ve seen a bootleg (you can tell from the quality) droz with a head never used on any of his figs.
