Finally! I've always faltered on trying to complete these, but there's no reason I can't almost go top to bottom with my personal favorite of all time!

2) fav singles match lost: WrestleMania III, vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (he lost this one, @classicfan2)
3) fav tag match won: SummerSlam '88, w/ Hulk Hogan vs. The Mega Bucks
4) fav tag match lost: WrestleMania VI, w/ Sensational Sherri vs. Dusty Rhodes & Sapphire
5) fav specialty match: Steel Cage. Randy had some absolute barn burners.
6) fav tag partner: Begrudgingly, Hulk Hogan. Not a Hogan fan in the least, but even I can't deny how huge the Mega Powers were.

mksavage, did this one for you this time!  and thanks for heads up on mistake. i meant to put my fav match of his w steamboat right off the bat and put it wrong one, then skipped down the list a bit and when i went back to fill in fav match lost my brain saw the steamboat match already listed and i literally had to think a bit after that and came up the warrior wm7 match. duh! |

Maybe I should do a diary on this lol I read somewhere that Vince wanted Hogan and Savage to be ambassadors for the company at this time, so being good guys would have been better for that role. But then Hogan retired and only Savage was left, so having him heel might have hurt his ambassador role. Savage appeared at a lot of non-wrestling events for the WWF at this time, I think they covered a few of them in the WWF magazines during the time. But I agree, having Savage as heel during this time to help put over some of the younger stars, especially in 1995 when they were overloaded with faces (Bret, Taker, Shawn, Diesel, Razor, Lex, Davey for most of the year, and Bam Bam), they really needed a strong heel at this time and Savage could have fit the role perfectly, look how good he did in that role in WCW in 1997 - he really helped make DDP a star. |
