At that time I think it was more up to the wrestler on how the character would look and act, management gave them an idea and the wrestlers ran with it. A lot of wrestlers at that time came to the WWF with their gimmick/characters already created and perfected (Hogan, Savage, Piper, Jake, Hacksaw, Bundy, Orndorff, etc.), management would just add to it, maybe suggest some things. It looks like Vince and creative started taking over characters designs and development in the early 90s. A while back, on WWE.com, they showed drawings and sketches of character designs (they had Razor, Doink, Hitman, HBK, etc.) and none that were shown were before 1990. It seems, from listening to some wrestlers shoot interviews, at that time, management would give you a name (if you didn't already have one they liked) and an idea but it was up to the wrestler(s) to really create the characters (how they looked and acted). I'd love to see those sketches Here are some: here is a link to the wwe website with the images: www.wwe.com/classics/superstar-sketches-photos#fid-26159564

This can't be true. I never heard this story but are you telling me the sole reason Terry walked around clucking was because he took the gimmick name literal? I know Austin has said (not related to this) that someone once asked him "What's so stunning about you?" as a way of asking what the heck is your gimmick supposed to be, and that the person who asked him was a long time vet. Maybe this was the mentality of those back then. You're named after a "Rooster? Be a Rooster" IDK why but I find this hilarious. Yes, listen to the Prichard podcasts. Prichard says in there that Taylor didn't quite understand what they were telling him about the character, they were going to call him the Red Rooster but that didn't mean he had to act exactly like a rooster - though they did want him to do the strut, which wasn't that different than the strut he already did which was copied from Flair. Oddly enough, it was Bruce Prichard's brother, Tom, who asked Steve Austin what makes you so stunning. I believe they were riding in a car traveling to the next city to wrestle, I think it was Austin, Rude, Heyman, and Prichard who were in the car. They were talking about names and gimmicks and he wanted to know why Austin called himself stunning since he didn't act like his monicker, he was more of an aggressive wrestler than a pretty boy. But the strut and the red faux-hawk pretty much was the Rooster gimmick. I still blame Vince.

Even if it doesn’t officially get released I don’t see that figure selling for $500 anytime soon. I have ZERO doubt that it will get bids. Lol

He isn’t getting even $200 for it, people have said it’s gonna come out and it’s not a wanted figure. People will buy it at $25 and that will be a hard sell for many. It’s good to see someone like him get brought back down to Earth.

For people that didn’t watch this era, I don’t know if they truly realize how niche this figure is. The guy was a complete jobber in WWF. He feuding with the Brooklyn Brawler and had no other feud. He was relegated to opening contests the rest of his run which if you knew those House shows, they were essentially warm ups well the crowd filed in, got their merch, their food. It was made for fun, but was not a desired figure. Plus you have several people saying the figure is coming out be patient. If he paid more than retail for his he is an idiot.

Good to see everyone here being so respectful. You knocked down that respect wall with your cockiness. But with that being said, you should have RESPECTED people’s opinion on that listing and taken their advice. You and only you set yourself up.

i think he should start the bid at 0.99 and maybe he can get $150 for it, if someone bought the Pete Dunne figure at $185 from that new zealand guy ,i think. Better hurry up, because when this figure will be out everywhere, you will get $20 for it at best.

My first house show was in 1992 I was 8, and I was so freaking excited to go see these guys in real life and my hero Bret Hart.....my opening contest was Terrific Terry Taylor vs Lance Cassidy going 20 mins of rest holds and my main event was Money Inc vs the Nasty Boys. No Bret Hart to be found lol.

Good to see everyone here being so respectful. Nobody is being disrespectful at all. Just laughing at the fact that your auction had ZERO bids because $500 is a ridiculous asking price. Especially for something you probably illegally obtained. Scalping figures is frowned upon here.

I'd like someone to quote one thing I said that was disrespectful. If you can, then I won't say another word and you guys can continue bashing me.
