So I was watching some old WWF coliseum videos on the WWE Network, and if the match being shown was taped at a WWF Superstars of Wrestling show, the words "Superstars of Wrestling" is blurred out on the banner, but the WWF logo is not - which I know is allowed now since the WWE worked out that deal with the World Wildlife Fund.
But does anyone know why "Superstars of Wrestling" isn't allowed to be seen?? Was that trademarked and the WWE lost it to some other promotion??

Since then, archival footage of the program has usually been shown with the words "of Wrestling" blurred out where applicable."

Oh wow, thank you so much for the info!
I honestly didn't know any of that. But that does suck, since we will still always have blurred footage in that era then once the old Superstars make it on the WWE Network.

Just a heads up Superstars circa April 92 are being added this Monday!
They're starting at that time period for that very reason, the whole ''Superstars of Wrestling'' debacle.

Oh man, that is exciting! Do you know if it's just the 1992 year?? Or are they putting a whole bunch of years up??

From what I've read it's going to be over 30 episodes so looks like we're getting April to the end of the year but not 100%. Definitely seems like April 18th to at least November though.

Thinking about it, this whole Superstars of Wrestling situation is most likely the reason why they haven't uploaded any more Prime Time episodes in a long time. That show aired matches that were on those old tapings so I guess blurring out the old logo on all those shows is a pain.
Hopefully one day they can strike a deal with the owner of the name like they did with the World Wildlife Fund to unblur the WWF logo.

Side note - id love them to add the All American episodes when Bobby was co host with Gene. Classic sunday entertainment!
