A direct sequel, a director who is a fan of the origials, Ivan Reitman being involved, and Paul Feig nowhere near it? I already have better faith in this, then the last one. It will be nice to see a director who has love for the franchise, and wants to make it true to what it was, and not one, that wants to use it as some kind of social statement. I still say that reboot, they knew they had a bad movie, and had made the instant decision, when it got any negativity, they would pull out the sexist card. Oh, you don't like our awful movie, that's crapping on a beloved movie? Well that's because you're sexist. To me, one of the big things that could have easily made the reboot work, is have it being a continuation of the original movies, with a new generation of Ghostbusters. When they went with the clean slate reboot, the first two movies didn't happen in his movie, they already aimed the gun, at their foot.

I wish they’d leave Ghostbusters alone. It’s a product of its time. You can’t recreate the magic.

I'm ok with it as long as the surviving cast don't appear. I already think it was a dick move by Bill Murray to do the female Ghostbusters film after the years of animosity with Harold Ramis. Ramis is the reason the first script worked(And in some way responsible for Bill Murrays best roles). And for years the studios wanted to do a third one but Bill Murray wouldn't do it because of his relationship with Ramis had soured so much. He can say "script this" and "script that" but come on man he did not one but TWO Garfield movies.

Let dead franchises stay dead.

the teaser gave me goosebumps. already have higher hopes for this than the reboot. i have so much love for the original and i can't stand melissa mccarthy, so that reboot was pretty much dead on arrival for me.
i believe the ecto-1 being in that garage is a slight hint that ray WILL be involved. i mean, chances are that the garage is at the house his parents left him. he grew up there.

Even though I think the last one was a monstrosity, I'm excited for this one. My son will be 4 by the time this comes out and I'm hoping he's sitting through entire movies by that point. Also the same reason I'm glad Indiana Jones got pushed back but hopefully that one actually gets made. We need a do over from Crystal Skull. The formula seems better on this Ghostbusters attempt. I think we've already experienced the worst of it. So let's see if they can get the franchise on-track for a relaunch of sorts. Reitman is a great writer/director. If anyone can do this I think it's him.

I stand by my enjoyment of the 2016 film. That said,I'm stoked for this and I'm hoping Hi-C will turn on the Ecto Cooler fountain again.

Hell yes on Ecto Cooler coming back again. I was able to find it twice online. Once on Amazon and a second time on Walmart's site. I never did actually see it on store shelves. I hope they go heavier on the merchandising in general this time around. People are already treating this like a much bigger deal. Hopefully it stays that way leading up to the film. Maybe Mattel will finally roll out that Real Ghostbusters line if the film does well.

Egon, Winston and Slimer just released. Peter and Ray to follow soon.

I’m not a fan of them honestly, as I don’t really care for Diamond in general, but it was a take what I can get deal. Also, I’m pretty positive Mattel still has the master license for Ghostbusters. They made the figures for the 2016 film, put out the rerelease wave of the 30th Anniversary figures, and you can still find Ghostbusters merch on their shop site. Diamond holds the direct market rights, which is what NECA used to hold. It’s the same way Hasbro has Marvel Legends but Diamond simultaneously puts out 7” scale MCU and Marvel figures. I expect Mattel to put out the main figures released for this new film.

I found ecto-cooler in cans in shoprite when the reboot came out. It seems like they always try to keep these old franchises alive for newer generations. These reboots try to get the bad taste out of peoples mouths after failed movies based on them.

My local grocery had a pretty regular supply towards the end of that summer, plus I was third shift retail at the time so I had first crack at it when we finally got it. I'd only ever put one pack aside though.
