So, Mego apparently resurrected. Even better: it's resurrected by Marty Abrams!!! Exciting times: Mego returned, LJN returning...

I love weird crap like this. That tiny chair though ...

Well as a "giant" that chair is alright for him. Sadly Mego has skinny arms and legs for Andre, would've been ok for Giant Baba.

I'm not really impressed with all these Mego releases.

I'm not really impressed with all these Mego releases. While they got the Gorn from Star Trek (the original series) right this time - the '70s version was completely wrong; brown, incorrect gear - they STILL gave him the wrong accessories: a phaser and communicator... Why no recording-translating device (provided by the Metrons) and a huge branch? The Halliwells of Charmed look way off. The other Megos from 2018 are alright.

Looks like someone put an Andre head on a Woody from Toy Story body.

Oof. That looks hideous, lol. While I applaud 80s lines coming back in theory I've been completely unimpressed by Mego's return overall. Technology has improved so much that if you're going to go the retro/throwback route you've got to overdo it with "charm" to make up for the lack of improved tech. This just looks bad.

I have an entire shelf dedicated to Andre the Giant in my office...but this is ugly as sin! Not sure I could look at this each day... His new bobble head looks great. Depending upon the size of it, I may pick one up and place a Mattel head on there.

I was excited when I read the topic, much less enthusiastic when I saw the photo. Swing and miss IMO. There was a Mego style figure many years ago by that company and website we're not supposed to mention here that was pretty great. Was hoping the "official" Mego would be more like that. The ressurected Mego line I've seen at Target has been extremely hit or miss: some really great, some very confusingly bad.

On one hand, for the price point $14.99 it's not bad especially in light of what other Mego-ish figures are being sold for. (I picked up just about all of the Batman '66 line, Bif Bang Pow's Doctor Who, etc... and they were in the $20 - $30 range)
But on the other hand, these Mego 2.0s are really hit and miss. Some capture the feel of the original 70's/80's figures but some, like this Andre, are pretty funky looking.
If I see some figures I dig, I'll pick them up. So far I've had no such luck as the ones I wanted have been the monsters and they disappeared pretty quick.

I can't believe the company honestly came up with this design and thought it was be good to release to the public. At no point in Andre's career did he ever look anything like this

It’s $15 And this line isn’t meant to look great. It’s a retro line.
Don’t expect realism
