Tracklist*Africa [originally performed by Toto] *Everybody Wants To Rule The World [originally performed by Tears For Fears] *Sweet Dreams [Are Made Of These] [originally performed The Eurythmics] *Take On Me [originally performed by a-ha] *Happy Together [originally performed by The Turtles] *Paranoid [originally performed by Black Sabbath] *Mr. Blue Sky [originally performed by Electric Light Orchestra] *No Scrubs [originally performed by TLC] *Billie Jean [originally performed by Michael Jackson] *Stand By Me [originally performed by Ben E. King]

Weezer just hasn't been the same since Matt Sharp left.

If this was 1994, I'd be so excited.

I haven't listened to them in a long time, probably around the Green album. I'm sure the music is fine. People want another Pinkerton but it just can't happen.
The Rentals have a new record coming out this year, so if you want to support Matt Sharp you can. The Rentals have never had a bad album so the new one will probably be good.

Am I the only one who can't stand the whole "Africa" resurgence?

Am I the only one who can't stand the whole "Africa" resurgence? I dig it, but we know we have to blame Zach Braff in Scrubs for the comeback Edit: I have refrained from making the LL Cool J comeback line refrence to not seem as corny.

I'll peep this, 'cause I'm a sucker for covers, but maaaaan, did that Toto cover get overblown. I mean, it was fine, and by no stretch bad, but it was just so straightforward. While not typically my cup of tea, the good Christian boys in Relient K had already done that one just fine seven years ago, without any of the Rivers Cuomo-associated creepyvibes.

Am I the only one who can't stand the whole "Africa" resurgence? I hate it. Why do I want to listen to a remake when I can just listen to the original song? They sound the freaking same. Same goes for those "5 Seconds to who cares?" band. They did "Killer Queen". Now screw the remake. I'll listen to Freddie any day. I dislike cover songs that sound just the same. Freaking lazy.

I used to love me some Weezer. Think I bought the first 4-5 cd's. And I just checked this out on iTunes. And for the most part, it's decent. The only one I really disliked was Sweet Dreams. Besides that, it's cool. I might download a few here one of these days.

Am I the only one who can't stand the whole "Africa" resurgence? It's such an awesome 80's song, it deserves some props for not entirely sucking during that decade. I always enjoy the original. Agreed, it's not a game changing cover. It's nice but felt like it was just a way to get themselves back on the radio. All in all, always love a good cover album. It's nice to see bands do that from time to time. There are so many great songs out there, it's great to celebrate music! Will be checking this album out for sure.

Regrettably, this whole record follows suit. If it weren't for Rivers' voice, they could just stand to pose as the originals. This one's a pass, unless you need the novelty of 'No Scrubs'.

I wish they would stop covering songs, they might as well relabel themselves as a cover band and play in small bars and crap
