(1-5, 5 being the best): 2.5 2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?: main event & andre/studd 3) What did you like most about this event?: sheik/volkoff won the belts 4) What did hate most about this event?: jyd didnt win IC title 5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: steamboat vs bundy instead both in squash matches a) best match: main event b) worst match: beefcake vs sammartino c) fav match: main event **Final Thoughts**: man i was soooooo pumped for this event. i didnt get to see it on ppv, and not until a couple years later, but found out results from a cousin who went that night and seeing highlights on wrestling was awesome. the whole hulk/piper/mr.t/mtv/lauper ordeal is what got me into wrestling. so couldnt wait for this match and I LOVED Mr.T for A-Team so him saving hogan was my 1st "holy s**t" moment in wrestling! then andre/studd. LOVED me the giants. was a HUGE fan of sheik/volkoff so glad they won. would like to have seen savage, orndorff and missing link have matches on the card too. Good, not the best, but good 1st wwf ppv type event! (Info: i added starrcade84 to starrcade83 thread, as those two were 1st 2 events and just not very popular or seen by many, esp '84.) |

2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?: No, I was only 4 years old then and didn't even know about it till a few years later
3) What did you like most about this event?: in looking back, the build up was pretty exciting for it
4) What did hate most about this event?: that it wasn't a six man tag with Piper, Orndorff and Orton vs. Hogan, T, and Snuka
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: some of those early matches on the card weren't needed, why not have Santana vs. Muraco, instead of Santana vs. Buddy Rose in a mask??
a) best match: Hogan/T vs. Piper/Orndorff just because of the excitement
b) worst match: Bundy vs. Jones
c) fav match: Hogan/T vs. Piper/Orndorff
**Final Thoughts**: Wrestlemania was a glorified house show that had a title to it. It was no different than The War To Settle The Score, or The Brawl To End It All. All three shows were house shows with a title name over them, and were all at MSG.
Looking at the first four matches on the card of Wrestlemania, it just screamed MSG house show. Do people need to see this once in their life? Yes. But do they ever need to watch it again? No.

2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?:Hogan/T vs Piper/Orndorff Just to see how T would do in a wrestling ring.
3) What did you like most about this event?:Andre slamming Studd
4) What did hate most about this event?:Too many short matches. It felt like a glorified house show
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?:Less squash matches
a) best match:The main event
b) worst match:Beefcake/David Sammartino( This was 2nd longest match of the night!)
c) fav match:Andre/Studd mainly for that historic slam moment
**Final Thoughts**: It's a must watch for historical purposes as it's the 1st Mania but it's not something I pull out from my collection often.

2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?: I didn't see this show live as it happened, but when I rented the video I was just looking forward to seeing the first ever wrestlemania.
3) What did you like most about this event?: That it was the first of something that was going to become special
4) What did hate most about this event?: Some of the boring/filler matches
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: Main event should have been for the world title
a) best match: Steamboat vs Bourne in ring wise even though everyone wanted to see the main event
b) worst match: Bundy vs Jones. Because the latter messed something up, it didn't last legit 9 seconds.
c) fav match: The main event.
**Final Thoughts**: Not one of the best wrestlemanias, but for historical purposes, everyone should check this out. It was boring at times, but there was good stuff on this show. Here's an interesting fact- After this show Bobby Heenan told Vince McMahon "here's to wrestlemania 2". Vince's reply- Here's to wrestlemania 202!"

Steamboat vs Matt Bourne. I feel like Steamboat should have had a more high profile opponent.

US Express vs Shiek and Volkoff[-b]
**Final Thoughts**:
It’s what started it all.
If there was no WrestleMania who knows where wrestling would be today.

3) What did you like most about this event?: The novelty of Mr. T wrestling and the poster
4) What did hate most about this event?: squash matches
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: Less squash matches and Buddy Rose not wear a stupid mask

b) worst match: Brutus/David Sammartino
c) fav match: Main Event
**Final Thoughts**: pretty meh but it’s the one that started it all so I guess I’ll live with it.

2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?: the whole thing. I first saw this event in 94 and had seen a few WM’s but really wanted to see where it all began
3) What did you like most about this event?: The main event and Cyndi Lauder (I was a huge fan of hers)
4) What did hate most about this event?: most of the action didn’t stand the test of time
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: less matches with the ones that made it to the show being longer

a) best match: Hogan / T vs Piper / Orndorff

c) fav match: Richter vs Kai
**Final Thoughts**: As hbkbigdaddycool said above me, this was a glorified house show with celebrities in the final 2 matches. But it did have a big eveny vibe to it, even if most of the undercard matches felt like they didn't belong. ut I will say this - it's WAY better than the piece of s$%t WrestleMania 2 ! And is worth a watch at least once to see where it all started.
