If WCW and ECW were still around to this day we would at least have alternatives still when it comes to WWE. I know one thing territories like TNA, ROH and AEW would not exist especially if WCW and ECW the original ECW was still around. The Monday Night Wars would probably still continue to this day and I know a lot of wrestlers who were in TNA they either would be in WCW today or they would be in ECW today. Or if WCW and ECW still existed...if Turner never sold to Vince I do know that ROH and AEW stars right now would probably either be in Japan or they would be in WCW or in ECW right now.

Hell, I know a lot of superstars right now on the roster they would probably be in WCW or ECW such as:
Dean Ambrose (ECW)
AJ Styles (WCW)
Finn Balor (WCW)
Kevin Owens (either company he would probably be in ECW or WCW if it were still around)
Lashley (WCW)
McIntyre (WWE or WCW)
Reigns (WWE through and through)
Rollins (WWE or he would probably jump to WCW)
I could go on and on

You can take a look at TNA from 2002-2013 to see what WCW wouldve been like if it never went under. They wouldve gotten better ratings though.

Heyman has gone on record saying that ECW was moving away from the extreme hardcore style of wrestling at the end of its run. If ECW was around today, it would probably look a lot like ROH with a higher profile and hopefully better production - assuming Heyman hired someone who could manage the money for him since we all know that was Heyman's weak point in running ECW and why the company folded. Add in that Heyman would probably have hooked up with NJPW since he already had a history of working with Japanese promotions and the similarities to ROH only get more obvious.
Chances are that at least half of the indy darlings that went on to work in WWE would have had long and successful careers in ECW instead. CM Punk would have been much happier working for Heyman than he ever was working for Vince. Daniel Bryan's rise might have come five years earlier in ECW. Heyman might have plucked AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and the Brisco Brothers from the indy scene in the early 2000s instead of TNA and they could have been main attractions for years in ECW, possibly not even bothering to give the WWE a shot later in their careers. He would have almost certainly attempted to recruit guys like Tyler Black, Jon Moxley, Austin Aries, Kevin Steen, El Generico, Jay Lethal, Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, etc. He might have picked off a few WWE cast offs along the way too like RVD, Christian Cage, Wade Barrett, and Jack Swagger just to name a few.
It's all conjecture of course, but Heyman had such an eye for talent and great skill at getting the most out of each so that everyone was over with the fans. It's why most of the ECW stars never reached the same heights in other promotions. Heyman just knew how to use everybody correctly. He let his talent do what they were best at and didn't ask them to do what they weren't very good at. I could see that appealing to some of today's wrestlers more than "come to the WWE, do things our scripted way, and if Vince likes you you'll get pushed".
As for WCW, that company was such a mess at the end that I don't see any way it would survive. At best, it would have become TNA and we've seen exactly how that played out. No need to play the "what if" game as far as I'm concerned.

I dont watch much today anymore, but I sure wish WCW stuck around for another 10 yrs or so. same with Pride fighting. They were my WCW to my WWF/UFC!

I think if WCW however were still around and Ted Turner had kept WCW by never selling it to Vince or anyone I honestly think WCW would probably be all right. I say that because you would have had stars like Sting still there as well as people like Booker T, Jeff Jarrett, nWo (Hogan, Hall, Nash) would have still been there and probably would have never have come back to WWE and Flair would still have been in WCW. Hell, he would have probably finished his career in WCW. I know Charlotte Flair she would be in WCW right now if it were still around same with such people like Cody Rhodes, Becky Lynch, etc.
I know people like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Daniel Bryan, etc. would all be in WCW right now that's for sure
Some WWE guys right now that were born and bred in WWE like what I mean is that they are a product of the WWE system would have probably jumped to WCW

You have WCW which is a company thats been around for seemingly forever that simply just wont die no matter how much money it loses and all of its greatest stars left and went to the WWE... WCW is Impact
You have AEW which is a small Indie fed thats getting a cult following thats filled with guys that were either stars in Japan, stars decades ago and guys who just simply couldnt get over in the "big leagues". ECW is AEW

If WCW was around right now, Randy Orton, John Cena, CM Punk, Batista, and others would have made the jump for less days and more money. Nothing would have changed in that aspect.
Turner had the money, and would have bought the big names that the WWE had and brought them over too. And the WWE would have been still forced to make new stars constantly, something in which they can't be bothered to do anymore.

I know Owens and Zayn would be in ECW right now that's for sure but some of if not most of the NXT talent right now would either still be in the WWE or they would probably have gone to WCW if it were still around today

WWF = WWE WCW = TNA ECW = ROH FCW = NXT A lot of similarities but if WCW and ECW were still around the wrestling war would have continued in the ratings and it would definitely make wrestling more exciting especially with social media eventually getting to all 3 companies |
