WWE Raw preview, Jan. 28, 2019: Seth Rollins “burns it down” en route to WrestleMania main event
Seth Rollins outlasted 29 other Superstars in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match to earn a World Championship opportunity in a main event of this year’s Show of Shows. Which title will he choose? Plus, what’s next for Ronda Rousey after successfully defending her Raw Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks?
The Kingslayer celebrates Royal conquest
Ever the workhorse, Seth Rollins was the last man standing in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, punching his ticket for a World Championship opportunity on The Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania. Will The Architect vie for the red brand’s Universal Championship, currently in the hands of Brock Lesnar? Or will he look to compete for the WWE Championship currently held by “The New” Daniel Bryan?
The “Rowdy” Road to WrestleMania
Despite absorbing excruciating punishment at the hands of Sasha Banks last night, Ronda Rousey is still the Raw Women’s Champion as The Road to WrestleMania gets underway. But who’s next for The Baddest Woman on the Planet? After all, the winner of the Women’s Royal Rumble Match was Becky Lynch, whose scheduled battle with Rousey at Survivor Series was postponed when The Man wasn’t cleared to compete. Will Lynch finally make that match a reality by choosing to challenge for Rousey’s title, or does another challenge await The Rowdy One?
The Beast triumphant
Finn Bálor brought the fight to Brock Lesnar, but the Universal Champion brought his F-5s, German suplexes and cinder-block fists. Despite everything The Extraordinary Man threw at The Beast Incarnate, Lesnar defeated his smaller-but-resilient challenger to retain his title.
It remains to be seen what championship 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble Match winner Seth Rollins chooses for his WrestleMania match, but whether it’s The Kingslayer or another Raw Superstar, a new challenger will soon stand in the path of The Conqueror. Meanwhile, after absorbing incredible punishment at the hands of Lesnar, Bálor will likely look for a new route to The Show of Shows.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber Qualifying Matches begin tonight
History will be made on Sunday, Feb. 17, when three teams from Raw and three teams from SmackDown LIVE meet inside the Elimination Chamber structure to determine the first-ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Tonight on Raw, Qualifying Matches begin for the right to compete inside the structure for the brand-new titles. Who will earn their place in this anticipated contest?
Braun Strowman clashes with Drew McIntyre
Former allies go fist-to-fist tonight on Raw, as Braun Strowman locks up with Drew McIntyre in a true clash of titans.
With both Superstars looking to prove themselves on The Road to WrestleMania, neither The Monster Among Men nor The Scottish Psychopath will hold anything back. Which of these behemoths will gain crucial momentum as The Show of Shows approaches?
Kurt Angle faces Baron Corbin one-on-one
Months after Baron Corbin orchestrated his ousting as Raw General Manager, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle will have a chance for one-on-one retribution against the former Acting General Manager of the red brand tonight on Raw.
The Olympic Hero memorably played a role in preventing Corbin from becoming permanent GM in a 4-on-1 No Disqualification Handicap Match last month on the night the McMahon family assumed control of the red brand. Corbin has been struggling to regain his footing on Team Red ever since. Will Angle humiliate The Lone Wolf once again, or will Corbin use this opportunity to make a name for himself as WrestleMania approaches?
Where will the new WWE Superstars wind up?
We’ve seen EC3, Lacey Evans, Heavy Machinery and Nikki Cross making appearances on both Raw and SmackDown LIVE in recent weeks, with no indication as to where these Superstars will end up in the long run.
Which of these NXT standouts will we see compete on Raw this week, and when will their brand alignment be set in stone?
Don’t miss any of the action on Raw, live at 8/7 C on USA Network!

I’m already bored of Rollins and he hasn’t even been pushed to Mania yet...I hope everybody boos him
Give us something fresh, they’ve passed on Rollins at every opportunity, I can’t help it if he comes off like 2nd hand discount Roman now
If we have transitional champions, this push is a transitional push. They’re pushing Rollins because he’s there, not because he’s interesting. Nobody cared that he won last night, Becky got a way bigger pop when she won

Nobody cared that he won last night, Becky got a way bigger pop when she wonSo you want Seth to get the Roman treatment with everyone turning and booing him? Which in turn would ruin ANOTHER Mania Main Event. A LOT of people cared that he won the Rumble, in fact i'm pretty sure everyone aside from 2-5 avid 'Rollins haters' (including Bret Hart) cared. He was a much better choice over Strowman, thank god we don't have to see him vs Brock for the 10000th time. The reason Becky got a bigger pop than him is simple... Becky is THE MOST over person in WWE right now, more than Rollins, Styles, Balor among others, so of course she's going to get a bigger reaction. Plus the other deciding factor in that is the fact that the Women's Rumble was early in the show, fans were still energised and had more to give. So when Becky entered and won, they had a lot more energy for the most over person in WWE. By the time the Men's match rolled around, those fans had been sitting there for what 4 - 5 Hours? Popping for every big moment, chanting etc... throughout the whole show. Even though they were spent, he still got a pretty good pop for his win, so someone cared.

Rollins isn’t over? HAHAHAHAHA! People like yelling “burn it down” but outside of that, I mean, they popped for Becky last night...Rollins winning got a meh reaction. Nobody was clamoring for him to win, even as recently as on Raw last week when WWE had him cut a promo which spoiled that he’d win (because why else did he have such a long promo about winning?)...the fans didn’t cheer him on, they were all sitting on their hands expecting somebody to interrupt him that they ACTUALLY want to win Go back and watch it. Blame time, blame whatever you want....excuses excuses. Austin came out at 11pm many times....people didn’t seem tired then. Point is, if the fans are into, they’ll cheer, and if they aren’t..excuses will be made as to why they would have cheered earlier in the night like when they go wild for Cory Graves because they’ll cheer anybody at the start of the show

I wonder if tonight's Raw thread will turn into the embarrassment that last night's Rumble thread did? Looks like we are off to a good..or is that bad..start.

Ronda has an open challenge...In a perfect world Alexa gets her belt back and we ship Ronda off to Smackdown so she can flip fight with Becky & Charlotte.
(That and I cant do any more Moment of Bliss talk shows)

Lot of unfilled seats tonight 🤔 I wonder if tonight's Raw thread will turn into the embarrassment that last night's Rumble thread did? Looks like we are off to a good..or is that bad..start. It usually does once the shows over tbh. The live discussion isn’t merely as bad as post.
