I'm a huge mark for Hawk & Animal but I think they could have been introduced a lot better. Lots of stuff happened due to their signing & then arrival.
The Powers of Pain were broken up for no reason and their contracts sold to Slick and Heenan & Demolition turned heel and took ona 3rd guy for seemingly no reason.
So this is how I would have introduced them....cant be too complex because this is 1990...
Mean Gene is interviewing them before their debut & Fuji w/POP interrupts to call them imposters etc etc. He claims there isn't enough room for these 2 teams in WWF and challenges them to a match. Since Vince was set on disbanding POP? Have LOD steamroll them then they disband.
Meanwhile Demolition needs Fuji's help to get the job done against the Rockers on SNME and seem to be paranoid about LOD. Fuji officially takes them over and introduces Crush.
Summerslam goes down the way it did with LOD helping the Harts win. LOD & Demolition feud until WM7 where LOD beats Smash & Crush(because Eadie was gonna go) in a loser leaves WWF match. Demolition remain strong until WM7 BTW and not get jobbed out to all the other teams beforehand....LOL.

I always wished we got a proper feud with LOD and Demo(Ax and Smash only). After SSlam 90 Demo were never the same and that's a damn shame.

Great scenario!
My scenario needs a bit of imagination but here goes.
With the dismissal of Tully Blanchard, Bobby Heenan pairs up Arn Anderson with Haku. At the Saturday nights main event between RR90 and WM6, AA and Haku beat Demolition for the belts. Andre keeps interfering, causing Ax to attack the giant outside. While Ax is brawling, Smash is double teamed and ultimately pinned, giving us new tag team champions. Demolition argue in the ring.
WM6 sees a rematch for the belts. To counter the giant, Demolition introduce a third member “Crrrrruuuuuuusssssssshhhhhh”. During the match, the ref gets knocked down and a six man brawl ensues. Crush hits Andre with a steel chair, sending him out of the ring. Ax grabs the chair and goes to hit Arn, who ducks, causing Ax to inadvertently hit Smash. The ref comes around as Haku gets the pin on Smash, retaining the belts. Afterwards, Crush and Smash attack Ax, officially turning Demolition heel.
Post WM, Ax recruits a new partner, who feud with the New Demolition.
Meanwhile Heenan issues an open challenge to any team to face his champions at Summerslam. Enter The Road Warriors, who destroy the champs in record time. The Heenan family feud with the Road Warriors until survivor series.
At Survivor series Mr Perfect, Haku and new Heenan recruits Demolition face Ultimate Warrior, The Road Warriors and Texas Tornado. Demolition (I’ll keep them strong in the booking as well) and Road Warriors (i’ll keep that name, so they get a rub with the Ultimate Warrior) are all DQ’d for brawling at ringside.
The two teams feud until WM7, where the Warriors go over, ultimately breaking up Demolition. Post WM7, Hawk and Animal feud with a strong and well booked Power and Glory, leading into their feud with the Natural Disasters late 91.
As I said my scenario takes a bit (possibly a lot) of imagination but that’s how I’d book it.

Wouldn't change Demolitions victory at WM6 for diamonds man. It was their last great moment and that pop is the 2nd loudest if the night behind Hogan's.

Also, Arn had already put in his notice and signed with WCW, he was leaving after Survivor Series 1989 so he wouldn't have been around until Summer Slam 1990. I like the idea of LOD beating the Powers of Pain to disband them, it also gives them a nice win in their debut - which could have taken place at WM6 or a SNME afterwards. You could have them beating POPs at house shows until the end of the summer with them squashing jobbers on TV claiming that Demolition is ducking them. I'd still have the Hart Foundation go over Demolition at Summer Slam (with LODs help) to start the feud. Then have them build to a Mania 7 match as a loser leaves town (WWF) match with LOD winning. Have the Hart's drop the belts to the Nasty Boys (or even Power & Glory, would have liked to see them get one short run as Tag Champs) with LOD winning the titles at Summer Slam 91. I believe LOD was meant to have a much longer run as tag champs but Hawk got in trouble in early 1992 and they had to drop the titles. I wonder how long they would have held on to the titles had Hawk not got in trouble (I believe he was busted for steroid use). I'm almost certain that they would have faced the Natural Disasters at WM8 then maybe a feud with Money Inc. after that, facing them for the titles at Summer Slam.

Demolition would be a great addition to that 😉

Hawks issues caused them to be stripped early for sure. Money Inc were created specifically for the job after Vince went cold on the NDs.
Original plan was for Money Inc to beat them at WM8 the exact way they did and for LOD to regain in Wembley.
Hawk f#cked the plan up TWICE. 😳

If Hawk and Animal steamroll Barbarian and Warlord, it kind of kills their singles push, no?

You mean you didn't like, "and next week on WWF Superstars of Wrestling, the debut of the Legion of Doom, as well as the Texas Tornado, Bad News Brown and Mr. Perfect will all be in action" because that pretty much sums up how I found out the Road Warriors were in the WWF.

They should have kept Powers of Pain together for a little while. If the plan was for LOD to come in and be this amazing tag team force then have them defeat Powers of Pain, they disband and then LOD goes after Demolition and defeat them, whether Ax and Smash or Smash and Crush.

I think Crush came in to demolition because Ax was transitioning out of being an in ring performer. Didn't he have something seriously wrong with him? Some sort of allergic reaction that needed him up?

I think Crush came in to demolition because Ax was transitioning out of being an in ring performer. Didn't he have something seriously wrong with him? Some sort of allergic reaction that needed him up? According to Ax, they brought in Crush because after WrestleMania 6 Ax had a near death experience. After Mania, he was in Japan eating shrimp (I believe) and he went into anaphylactic shock (he said he had an out of body experience). He needed time off but WWF didn't want to do that so they brought in Crush to keep Demolition on the card since they were the champions. Supposedly after the Survivor Series he was supposed to become an agent but that fell through, I think he and the WWF got into a fight over who owned the Demolition name. Ax said he did because he came up with the name and look, however, WWF said they did because they collaborated with him in coming up with the team. I think a similar thing happened with Scott Hall when he jumped to WCW, he was still acting like Razor Ramon (especially in the way he talked) and the WWF said that it was character infringement or something and took him to court.
