Since so many of us love them! While Vince McMahon has tried to erase them from history, at one point Ax and Smash were arguably the 2nd hottest act in the WWF. They were SO over, Hogan himself pushed to start tagging with them. And in a time when the Road warriors were struggling to with their first NWA World Tag Team Title, Demolition was dominating the WWF Tag Team scene! So....discuss! Lets talk about the Demos!

i LOVED Demo! i thought they were cheap road warrior imitations at 1st but they started growing me. glad they won belts from strikeforce. by the time piledriver 2 album came out and the new song i was a HUGE fan. and road warriors were my fav team eva so i was fantasizing about dream matches between the two. good point op about how warrios were having trouble in nwa, while demo was cleaning house in wwf. was so happy they got hold the belts 3 times too. i didnt mind 3rd member crush being added. thought it was kinda cool at the time. things with demo were getting stale. made for some fun matches with lod/warrior. great team!

They're my favorite tag team of all time even though I started watching in 1991! I don't look at them as Road Warrior rip offs.

One of my favorite teams along with the Hart Foundation, Rockers, LOD, and Steiner Brothers. Great team. Dominated the WWF from 1988 to 1990. I didn't mind the addition of Crush, I just wish he was more the size of Ax and Smash so it didn't always have to be Ax as the odd man out (Ax was my favorite member). They had some great matches with the Harts, Bulldogs, Rockers, and Brain Busters. Can't believe they let the New Day break their tag team title reign record, such a shame.

Demolition are my joint fave tag team with the Road Warriors....their story is just so interesting. They were so over it was incredible. IMO? Hawk & Animal made a mistake not going to Vince in 1988. They would have been even more popular. than they already were.
Vince trying to replace them with POP to feud with Demo was a legit disaster....LOL

Awesome tag team. I first saw them at the Rumble 89 and was awesome to watch them lay into each other.
The first real match of theirs I saw was the handicap match at WM5.
I started watching WWF in 92 and with no internet back then I spent most of that year buying/renting old videos. They were the standout tag team for me and been such a huge fan of theirs ever since.
I would have loved to have seen them get a better run of things with Crush as a member, but can’t win them all!!
Hard to pick a favourite match of theirs, but I’ll go for the Survivor Series 88 match. How about everyone else?

My childhood favorite tag team in a period that tag teams were just as popular as singles. I loved Demolition as a 3 piece. Wish WWE didn't misdiagnose Axe so he could have stayed with them.

Who was everyone's favorite member of Demolition? Mine was Ax.

I guess it was so no one would identify it and realise who he was

My favorite Demo matches would be the SSlam 90 with the Harts with the 2/3 falls match with the Busters on SNME from Summer of 89 a close 2nd.

We were weird like that, we rarely liked the same guy from each team; he liked Davey Boy I liked Dynamite, he liked the Anvil I liked the Hitman, he liked Marty I liked Shawn, he liked Animal I liked Hawk, he liked Knobbs I liked Sags, he liked Rick I liked Scott, he liked Nash I liked Hall. I think the only team we liked the same guy was the Twin Towers, we both liked Boss Man. Like I said, weird.

Who was everyone's favorite member of Demolition? Mine was Ax. Smash for me. He seemed more agile and more..."enthusiastic" with his promos. My best friend was a HUGE Hart Foundation fan, and with me being Demo 4 Life it made a couple of SummerSlam's interesting! My favorite Demolition matches: 1) SNME, 2 out of 3 Falls vs Brain Busters - just an excellent match from both teams 2) SummerSlam 90 , 2 out of 3 Falls vs Hart Foundation - like above, with both teams firing on all cylinders, and without a doubt Crush's best match in the team 3) WrestleMania VI, vs Colossal Connection - not the best match, but worth it for the HUGE pop Demo got before and after the match. The "last hurrah" before Vince flushed them. 4) SummerSlam 88, vs Hart Foundation - their first high profile Title defense, and it was a good match. 5) WrestleMania IV, vs Strike Force - where the dominance all began.

I loved Demolition so much it never once dawned on me that they were Road Warrior rip offs. I think I saw someone on here say it years ago, and as I was getting ready to argue I put the pieces together. Blew my mind. Vince trying to replace them with POP to feud with Demo was a legit disaster....LOL Would you say it was a... WALKING DISASTER?

The best WWF tag team in the 80s has to be with a kicka$$ entrance music. I admit I was scared of them at Wrestlemania IV when they won the title lol (I loved strike force was sad to see them lose the belts to them). They were great babyfaces, and even as heels again with Crush I kind of liked the third guy idea at the time. It's so sad we never got the big Wrestlemania pay off between LoD and Demolition. Would've been epic.
