Just heads up, Ryder and Hawkins were talking about the ring maybe being out of production on their new episode.
So if anyone needs one may be a good time to pick them up while still available pretty cheap.
Wonder why they would discontinue it though? Do these figs fit with any other ring currently made? Hope that's not bad news for the figures themselves.
Or maybe they'll put out another one in a few months with a different color/decal scheme?

I really hope not. We should at least get some repainted ones with different ropes like maybe a WrestleMania 9 or 10 one and a modern RAW and Smackdown version. It's just wishful thinking but I would love if we got one with the rainbow neon light curtain entrance from the 90's lol. Plus they still owe us one with a belt!!!! lol
I think the only store I have seen carry it is KMart and I think my wife mentioned the remaining stores were also closing soon. So maybe it’s discontinued because no other retailers picked it up? If no retailer wants to carry it why continue to make it?

Kmart is the only place I found one at also besides the online option. It's a shame, it would have been great for my Target to get them since it's a lot easier for me to get to lol.

Yeah, I would think if there's a demand at some point they would redo it in a different color or add cage or something cool. Amazon still had them for 17.99 as of last night, so I ordered a few just incase.

I honestly think they just said that so people go buy rings. I’m sure, like most of us, they want to see a second version of the ring, and that’s dependent on sales of the first one. Seemed pretty tongue in cheek when they said it imo.
At some point, they stop making things, people. Even the Hasbro ring was discontinued while the line was going. They made the KOTR version but they stopped the blue one. Same with current rings. And let's not act like the retro line is all of the sudden a huge seller just cause a podcast talks it up and 2 new waves came out. These things, regardless of reasons why, sat on shelves. Someone recently on twitter had a pic of them on clearance for like $9 with tons of them on the shelf

This is how I took it also. I love the retros and I want Mattel to keep making them, so if I had a platform with thousands of listeners i’d be doing the same thing.

I'm still sorta optimistic about the line, S7 seems to be doing well at Walmart. As long as Mattel has a better idea of what sorta quantities of each wave to make and doesn't flood stores with case upon case of the same guys, maybe they'll do good from here on out?
Make and distribute X amount of one wave, move on to the next so there's constantly relevant product in stores. As long as they can avoid another S3 situation where Targets were just flooded with them for a year plus.
And if they decide to go a bit more flashback heavy from here on out, I think that will really help out. Most recent few sets are much more colorful and varied in action/poses too than S3, S4 etc.

I would have to disagree. Series 3 sat around because it was out for a year while retail waited for series 4,5,6. Series 7 is the newest set and they usually sell out within an hour of hitting shelves. Also ringside is now selling series 8 with a limit of 5 per customer due to so many people buying in bulk. Retro line is hot.

We all need to temper our enthusiasm. Series 7 is selling well because it JUST showed up. The new hotness always sells well on the first stock, plus Retro collectors have been itching for figures to buy at retail.
If these get restocked again nationwide before they start shipping series 8, and they keep selling...then that's good...but if they sit...then it's telling.
I don't want to be a millionaire. I just want enough money to be able to stare off into the distance while pumping gas.

Got my rings from here and Amazon. Only saw them at a few Kmarts, not at Target or Walmart. Curious to where they are clearanced out at $9 each. I'd go and buy some more at that price.
WWE Mattel: If it's rare, I collect/sell/trade 'em.
I don't have a Kmart around me so I never saw these in stores. I went to amazon and picked up two, I may get the WWF decals that are being sold on eBay and add them to one of the rings.
