I feel like they can pass as both( especially Dvon) mainly cause were not getting more anytime soon. D-Von wasn’t bald in the AE, had a lot less tattoos, and the shirt is clearly from the current era. The only thing that passes for AE are the camo pants and glasses. Bubba's hair was different too.. but the Dudleys didn't change too drastically in that time frame. They are no doubt meant to be "modern", but that doesn't mean they'd look wildly out of place on an AE shelf.

The beard instead of goatee, the tats, and no sleeves really stick out as not being AE.

Very true, I have them placed on the AE shelf and when my friend's make comments about the figures, they just talk about their run back in 1999 - 2001. Only hardcore collectors would know so it's a pretty good place holder for now. Other than them not being Flashbacks my main gripe is Buhbuh got the Kevin Owens treatment. (Small torso and muscular arms)

Personally I think we all deserved their early 2000's attire elites when they were constantly feuding with edge/christian and the hardys

I really wish they had done Flashback AE Dudley Boyz in blue attire while they were recently back under contract. Hopefully we don't see the same happen with the Hardy Boyz too.

I've seen a bunch of comments on the quality of these figures being a miss, are the part choices solid though?

Mattel can be really frustrating sometimes: the Hardys have been back for nearly 2 years now and had countless figures... yet (apart from that crappy Battlepack Jeff) we STILL DON'T HAVE ANY AE FLASHBACKS. I would have thought they'd have made them pretty quickly, given Jeff's history and after what happened with Hogan... but no. I just hope it won't be another "...well we planned on making them, but...".

I've seen a bunch of comments on the quality of these figures being a miss, are the part choices solid though? Bubba Ray has the same issue Kevin Owens used to have with getting biceps that are way too muscular but otherwise they’re pretty solid. The problem with that in this case tho is Bubba has tattoos on his arms so you either keep the roid arms or lose the tattoos.
