1990: excellent year of wrestling! one of my favs for sure. both wwf & nwa were both kickin ass and had all the big names i love. i was a senior in high school and lovin life. datin girls, partying with friends, riding dirt bikes, and watching my wrestling. had a few parties during a few sat night main events and got everyone into it yelling and cheering. best memory was the summer snme, my party, everyone rooting for tito, im only one going for mr perfect (he was my fav). he nearly lost so many times only to pull it off and me jumpin up n down yeallin "Yes Yes" and everyone throwing food at me, lol. then later, i had a pool table i was best pool player and would beat everyone and do mr perfect promos on them ("each and every time, absolutely perfect!") and gettin everyone all riled up. again, throwing crap at me, lol. good times, good year. all wwf/nwa ppvs were top notch. superstars/challenge were awesome. 8 kick ass sat night main event & clash of the champions events. would give ANYTHING to have this as my wrestling again today. best: hulk vs warrior - one of the greatest eva! sting vs flair (GAB90) the rumble! awesome rumble. LOVED it! survivor series! the final survivor match added was awesome. demolition winning belts, then losing them to hart foundation power & glory formed (giving both guys new life) AWESOME tag team action in nwa the whole year (look up ppv/cotc results, holy cow at the tag team matches all year) dudes w/attitude vs horseman fued doom vs horseman fued all wwf/nwa ppvs all snme & cotc events worst: no hulk/warrior rematch mr perfect losses: to beefcake (wm6), hogan (snme), tornado (ss90), LOVED him as undefeated. the whole sgt slaughter/iraq angle started the sting/windham/sid ordeal at halloween havic (hated that) el gigante/jyd/orndorff vs horesman at GAB was so short (REALLY wanted to see that match) wish summerslam continued tag team main event tradition with hulk/warrior vs quake/bravo instead Attachment Deleted

Best: Royal Rumble Match Hogan - Warrior interaction in the Royal Rumble Match Jesse Ventura butchering Hogan for eliminating Warrior after Warrior saved Hogan from elimination a minute or so earlier Garvin vs Hammer match at the Rumble (chop fest if I've ever seen one) Hogan vs Warrior at Mania 6 (I don't think a lot of fans of today can appreciate this match, it's a little slow by comparison but great story telling) The pop Demolition received after winning the titles at Mania 6 The end of the Jake/DiBiase feud (those two worked really well together) The Big Boss Man face turn (really well done) Rhodes (Common Man) vs Savage (Royalty) feud - the matches were lack luster but the feud was excellent Mr. Perfect vs Tito Santana SNME (an excellent match, one of the best of the year) Hart Foundation winning the titles (always a favorite tag team of mine) Hart Foundation vs Demolition at Summer Slam (really good match) Rhodes (family, blood-line theme) vs. DiBiase (money, extravagant lifestyle theme) feud was great Legion of Doom coming to the WWF Texas Tornado coming to the WWF Power and Glory (I really liked this tag team, shame they didn't get more of a push) Warrior vs Rude steel cage match at Summer Slam (I really liked this match and their chemistry together, Rude got the 2nd best out of Warrior in my opinion) The teaming of Warrior, Texas Tornado, and the Legion of Doom at Survivor Series The Undertaker debut The Rhythm and Blues - so campy but I loved it
Worst: No great Demolition vs Legion of Doom match (the feud was basically a continuous squash match for LOD) The Gobbledy Gooker was epically bad No great/good Macho King/Dusty Rhodes match (very disappointed at the 5 minute match they had at Summer Slam) The Rockers not getting their tag team title win (I think they deserved at least one title run and could have held the titles until the Royal Rumble or Mania 7, losing them to Power & Glory) Jesse Ventura no longer announcing for the WWF No Macho King at the Survivor Series, would have loved him on Perfect's team to help set up the feud with Warrior (Savage, Perfect, Smash, Crush would be the team with Ax doing his switch-o-roo on the outside)
All-in-all a good year for the WWF, I didn't watch WCW at the time because I didn't have cable but I am glad they started to push Sting since he was one of the reason I got into WCW in 1991 when they started broadcasting a Saturday morning show on regular television.

Best of 1990 (WWF):
- Wrestlemania 6 - Ultimate Challenge, Toronto Skydome - Hulk Hogan getting squashed by Earthquake, great storyline - Rick Rude finally getting a main event match since 1987 (house shows with Hulk) - Sgt. Slaughter becoming a turncoat (his WWF title win sucked that was in 1991 though)
Worst of 1990 (WWF):
- Hulk Hogan winning the Royal Rumble, Mr. Perfect was supposed to win - Hulk Hogan's absence made people want him back, hence killing Warrior's future chances - Survivor Series - Didn't like the Warriors team and Warrior as WWF Champion had no business feuding with Perfect's team, and the elimination finals was weird - Savage/Dusty feud - Perfect's Streak ending

Not sure if I'm alone here, but I always think of 1990 as the last FULL year of that classic golden era of the WWF.
Understood why some people would include 1991 as well. The first half would make my cut. I just feel like the company as a whole took on a new identity after Summerslam that year. By late 1992, forget it. We were already in the prepubescent stages of the New Generation by then. It all changed so quickly when you think about it.

If you even notice my reviews, They're iffy, back n forth 1991 and up, but you'll see nothing but praise from 1990 down to 1985 from me. I still love 91-94, then the TRUE change for me took effect. But I felt and saw the effects like you said starting in late 91. The steroid scandal thing started/caused it IMO.

BEST:
WrestleMania VI - the whole show was electric.
Hogan vs Warrior - put on a MUCH better match than anyone expected.
Demolition - final hurrah, and you could see how over they still were up til SummerSlam
Sting - finally gets the Belt and spotlight
Undertaker - initial few months were kinda weak, but still, it was the debut of the Undertaker!!
Warrior as Champ - he was over and doing a good job, despite what others have said
Mr. Perfect - finally ascended to the next level
Doom - were great, dominant NWA Tag Champs
Roddy Piper on commentary - just gold after a shaky start. I'd love when he's contradict Vince and go against the Babyfaces. His scathing comments on Warrior at summerslam are priceless!
WORST:
Sting's Title Reign - literally all his defenses were against the Horsemen, and he ended up dropping it back to Flair anyway.
Rude vs Warrior feud - something didn't click this time.
Crush - I know WHY they added him to Demo, but it sucked, big time.
Rockers - spent a lot of the year jobbing out, and even their title win was negated.
Barry Windham as Fake Sting - just atrocious!
Flair as the Black Scorpion - all that buildup to ...that?
Texas Tornado beats Perfect for the IC title - I know it was done to hotshot Kerry in the WWF, but they should've made sure he was reliable first.

The best for me was Sting winning the title at the GAB, but really I don’t remember much more good or bad from 1990 as that March was when my father had passed away. So much of that year I vaguely remember

Sorry for your loss. I would have said it earlier, but I haven't really checked this thread until now.
