Kurt Angle recently said “I have nothing that I feel I need to accomplish other than an amazing retirement match, whenever that is.”
What would be more fitting than a WM retirement match against... John Cena. Cena's debut was against Angle.
or
how about Chad Gable. Because we all know he's the "real" illegitimate child and not Jason Jordan (who would be in this spot). Storyline wise this would be good because Jordan may not be back to wrestling anytime soon, much less by the time Angle decides to retire. He's currently a backstage producer.
or
How about someone he's never wrestled before... Daniel Bryan
or
AJ Styles, who can make a good match with anyone and who Angle himself has said "The one that I would really love to have a final match with right now is the kid that's the hottest right now in WWE and that's AJ Styles."

I would have liked to see him wrestle as a tag team with his son to win the titles once, seems like a very heartwarming American thing to do, like playing ball with your son.
Then again I have no idea if JJ really is his son lmao
Might be cool to have him go out with a "real" wrestling match, as in like olympic wrestling. It would probably need to be scripted like everything else, to make it a spectacle, but I think that would be a fun watch.Maybe against Ziggler so he can show off his stuff.

Sadly, I have no need/want to see Angle in any more matches. I guess if I had to pick one, and one that could make sense, is Cena retiring Angle. But I only want to see that, if Cena is full heel, which to be honest, is the only reason I now want to see Cena... Angle could be one of the first names they feed monster heel Cena and his crew (he needs to lead a stable, think Hogan/NWO)..

Tbh I think Angle has a lot of matches left in him. They don't even need to be 30 minute classics, just a few decent 10-15 minutes matches with the right opponents.
Despite having a fallout and bad exit with the company, he's still one of the greatest stars in the biz and the guy deserves a proper final run imo. I'd love to see Angle hold the Universal and WWE Titles before he officially retires.

Hell, I thought his beatdown by McIntyre was supposed to be the sendoff. Imagine that résumé builder, Drew being the one to retire Angle AND Taker...
Anyway, it could be possible for Bryan and Angle to cross paths and set up a big match now that Daniel's heel. He can get on his soapbox and start a tirade about how much damage mining for gold has caused the Earth.

I'd have Kurt Angle cost Daniel Bryan the WWE title (like how Shawn did to Undertaker). Rowan tries to help Bryan inside the Chamber, but- Kurt removes him from the equation. Then, Kurt Angle becomes desperate to prove that he still has it- and Bryan lures him into putting his career on the line at WrestleMania, where Angle puts Bryan over.

As a big fan of his, I was rooting for the Streak to go on forever as a standing tribute to Taker's accomplishments in the business. But it's been reported that he has a real old-school approach, that you should go out on your back. And as many times he reportedly approached guys to be the One before Brock finally did the honors, I'm sure it will be the same deal when the time comes for his last match. And with as many young talents there's been, McIntyre I feel had the best standing to endure that burden. I believe he really could have been the One to end the Streak and not crumble under that weight.

The mixed tag last year should've been his retirement match. It protected his weaknesses, and it let him pass the torch to a debuting star from an Olympic background. At this point, from his appearances since Mania, he's not able for a great singles match, and a win over him doesn't mean a lot.

A retirement tour where he loses to Drew McIntyre, defeats Bobby Roode, then loses to Bobby Lashley

Either Chad Gable or Daniel Bryan.

The loss to Drew should have been it. He's not capable anymore, and that win for McIntyre was actually a pretty big deal... Then they went and ruined it just a matter of weeks later by having Corbin pretty much squash him too.
He's damaged goods now, only a few would be able to get a good match out of him and even the rub they would get from beating him wouldn't mean much.

Ideally it'd be Daniel Bryan. But even though it wouldn't be a 5 star classic in today's age, i'd like to see him close out on a classic feud with Samoa Joe.
I also really want to see Angle vs Cesaro at some point before he retires.

Who were the greatest rivals of his career?
Triple H Chris Benoit Brock Lesnar Eddie Guererro AJ Styles Jeff Jarrett
Am I missing anyone?
I reckon AJ or HHH would be most fitting.
I'd be up for a passing-of-the-torch moment with Chad Gable as well, after a storyline where Kurt is his mentor, gets him over as an upper mid-carder, and then gives him the rub in a retirement match.

Undertaker in a loser leaves town match. Ends with Angle tapping out to the hells gate while at the same time Taker’s shoulders were down for the 3 count. Since they both technically lost they both retire and never wrestle again.
