What a long morning. Arrived at Target around 7am for the doors at 8am. Once I saw that the pegs were empty. I asked an employee if they had a case in the back of WWE Elites. She seemed confused. A guy behind me (Bill) mentioned I was after the same thing he was. He told the lady the DPCI number for the NXT Elites. She looked it up and said there was nothing in the back. At this point, I explain to him that I’m strictly after the Dunne, as to not come off too greedy. So we asked another woman (Susan) and for some reason, her scanner showed a case of NXT 4 and Elite 64 in the back. She told us their grocery truck had arrived, so they had to stop working the toys on the truck. She told us to call back in about an hour or so. Once we returned, we noticed a blonde woman walking the aisles on her phone, talking about “Not seeing anything”. So Bill asks is she’s after the NXT figures. Of course she says yes. They agree to split the case and I’m solely after the Dunne (for now), no extra funds. We waited a total of 4 hours (left at 9:30 to return at 10:30, as to not disturb the employees) only for MVP Susan to walk out with a case of Elite 63 and NXT 3... ... Kidding. She has the case of NXT 4. Bill takes his set, blonde woman snags the remaining Black and McIntyre. I feel empty inside as she asks me “That’s all I have honey, sorry”. I mention I was after a different DPCI. Give it to her, she goes in the back, slices in open and the BRUISERWEIGHT is staring me in the face. I grab Dunne and all 3 of us are content. At this point, another woman walks up with a panic in her face. She says her 5 year-old son wanted Aleister Black. She looks dejected as she proceeds to tell us that her son has been going through chemo treatments the past several weeks and they wanted to surprise him this week with the figure that he’s been wanting. I look at Bill and the blonde lady, as the other woman keeps mentioning her sick kid every sentence. Luckily, neither give in and we all walk away with what we were waiting hours for.

Man I don’t know if in your position I would have given my figure up to a kid with cancer, but I do know if I did not I wouldn’t go bragging about it on social media. Just comes off real bad.

Oh, it’s not a matter of bragging. As much as I hate saying it, I don’t believe this woman’s story. I (again, unfortunately) believe that this woman was late in getting there and mentioned it in the hopes one of the other 2 would give her their Aleister Black. There was no kid present. Just the continual words of “My 5 year old is going through chemo treatments”. Believe me, I’d love to believe that she wouldn’t lie about a situation so serious. But just the way it was brought up immediately once she realized the 2 Blacks from the case were obtained and how she continually mentioned the kid every sentence... I have my doubts. I do believe she has a kid. Not sure what 5 year-old is after an Aleister Black. Apparently had been “wanting that one for a while now”.

In this day and age, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this mom was just a scalper with a pitty story ready so she can get her $20 figure to flip fire $100 plus on eBay. I don't blame either party for not giving up their figs. They got there first, simple as that. If her story is indeed true it's sad, but none of them should feel guilty for giving up their findings.

If I had been in your situation, I would have guessed it was a lie to try to get it for herself.

U never know who is being honest anymore with the sad stories. I dont know if I would believe someone in target when they tell me their kid is having chemo treatments and the only thing he wants happens to be the highest resale figure at the present time. People are that low now a days but if that story is true or could be validated how do u not give the poor kid the black figure?

I’m not saying anything about what he did per say, as I said I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t give my figures up either, just putting it on here could cause a lot of drama, especially when looking at some of the recent posts isn’t needed. Just seems almost like a question of morality post ya know?

Why admit this and then end the story like that? You sound proud and content that a random smattering of 3 people got figures over a kid with cancer. Go pound sad, dude. You just lost all credibility. See ya. Because I don’t trust a random smattering of 1 mom claiming a sob story once the employee mentioned there were only 2 Aleister Black figures, which 2 other people obtained for waiting 2-4 hours for? Okay. Bye.

Don’t get me wrong, if she does indeed have a son who is battling cancer, I TRULY hope she finds it ASAP for him. More importantly, I hope that kids beats the disease... But I also realize the society that we live in. Where anyone will say anything to obtain something. Sorry that I don’t believe the random lady.

Definitely not someone to make up a story for any sort of internet clout. Haha But being new here, I’m not surprised most newer members get the wrong idea of my posts. Whatever.

Well, the “mom” said her kid wanted a Black not the Dunne he had so nobody can question his morals. But honestly I don’t know if I would have believed her story, because people have come on this site over the years and used that same excuse.
