Hey guys, doing my first Mania weekend this year. One of my main reasons for going is for WrestleCon -- I'm hoping to get a bunch of figs signed by a bunch of legends. My concern, though, is traveling and somehow keeping like 10 Mattels in mint condition. Any advice? I think I'll be OK with Hasbros and newer Elites with the Ringside case protectors, but I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to properly protect a few figures from the legends line ... and I really want to get Tully and Hacksaw signed.
I'll be flying (short flight, like an hour) and packing them in a suitcase. I should be good for the most part but if anyone has any ideas (and specifically how to protect these legends figs) that would be awesome.

Get some of those protective cases from RSC? Yeah like I mentioned I've got them for the Elites and Hasbros but they are wayyyyyy too small for the Mattel Legends figs. I emailed RSC to see if they had any that would fit and they said no.

I took The Rockers 2-Pack to Wrestlecon last year. I out them in their white box, put them in my carry-on, and I lined the whole case with clothes. Didn't have a single bend or crease

Wrap in kevlar, put in lead safe. Have National guard escort it.

I’m picturing Toy Story 2 where the Toy Barn guy packed the Woody’s Round Up Gang in foam lined suitcases with cutouts of each individual figure to insert them perfectly in to.

I had this same issue taking my DDP legends to get signed. No good answer other than pack it well with other figures around it to offer some protection. DDP made it back home safe

Couldnt you mail them to your hotel? If not then you have to box them, your suitcase may not be enough protection

Christ, the brains on display here..... "Send it in a box, they could get damaged in your suitcase...."
Pack them in a cardboard box. nice and tight, and then put the box in the suitcase.

Also, this could be a potential business opportunity for us. We get free boxes from the back of a warehouse, and re-sell them to this guy at $10 each as "traveling figure protection". www.elitefigtravelcasesformarksthattraveltosigningconventions.comI hope the website name is still available.

No need to be a jerk about it. I've got like 50 boxes in my house because I ship things on ebay/make trades all the time. People bring a ton of figs to WrestleCon and I didn't know if there was a certain kind of case that specifically fit the Legends figures best. They're a weird size and RSC Mattel defenders fit all the other Mattel figs. I'd prefer not to have to box and then place in a suitcase because it will severely limit how many I can bring but that looks like the best option. Figured I'm not the only person wondering because I've heard a ton of horror stories of figures getting damaged in suitcases.

I've seen people put them inside of recycling bags with clothes around the boxes to keep them from moving too much. The only problem is TSA doesn't care about your stuff and it's a crap shoot. They dented up some of my stuff pretty badly in the past.

I have literally never heard of a paper suitcase, a sign of the eco friendly times maybe. And it wasnt me that asked the initial question, so mayve you should ask the op what his suitcase is made of

This thread is all anyone will ever need as evidence to the fact that literally ANYTHING can devolve into an argument on these boards.
For hug's sake.
