Anyone have any feedback or tips when comparing the Mattel deluxe display stands and your standard acrylic risers? I know that GW Acrylic has some nice looking risers that I'm thinking about purchasing, but wanted to know if anyone else had any experience with these? They are made primarily for Star Wars figures, but do they fit WWE figures nicely? Does anything make the 4-stack better than the 2 or 3-stack?
I've used Mattel's deluxe display stands for years but just recently added a deeper shelf to my display area and am re-doing my whole setup. I can now fit more figures on my display than I had previously, but I'm debating on whether or not the black Mattel deluxe stands are still the best way to go. The acrylic risers appeal to me because they are clear and might make those 'back row' figures more easily viewable. Anyone who has the acrylic risers, I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

If you are talking about those little acrylic discs ask Bandalero as he uses those for his figures. If you are talking about the racks similar to spice racks I would say those are better than the stands the Mattel makes that are stackable. Mainly because you can put more figures on the risers.

I have the spice racks and while they are good, I hate that they stumble over and fall all over the place easily. I wish a company would make something in between the mattel display stands and the acrylic riders with removable pegs.

yup I use those clear small star wars discs for my WWE figure stands. I also invested in some acrylic risers. I just think the whole look is very clean, airy and keeps the focus on the figures: P.S. good think about acrylic riser stands is that you can get them custom-made too, depending on the length you want etc. I know you display your collection horizontally, so some mega lengths of those would suit you well.

Thank you, sir. This is VERY helpful. I know you mentioned those little discs to me before which look great. And yes, I definitely would like custom made risers for a longer display. Any chance you’d be willing to put more pics up of these risers/your display so I can get a better idea of how it looks with multiple figures on it? Do you have any issues with the figures sliding or falling? One of my concerns would be lining the risers up next to each other and if it would appear seamless or not or if I’d have any issues with the figures moving/sliding/falling. Thanks Bandalero.

So I have two of those discontinued Bertby Ikea floating display cases and the shelves are 12" wide. So I bought these 2-step acrylic risers just a tad shorter so that they can fit easily into my shelving unit. Figures don't slide thanks to the discs and you can squeeze 5 figures on a row in some instances: I even took two out and lined them side by side so you can get an idea of how they look horizontally. no issues: I picked these ones because the foot stands in the back are also acrylic cylinders which I thought looked great:

I use the same Star Wars disc stands and risers like Bandalero and I find they work way better than the mattel stands as you have greater flexibility to pose the figures

Ive been using acrylic risers for my Funkos but Ive been seriously thinking about switching my WWE collection that way as well since the Deluxe stands cost so damn much to get a hold of. Bandalero Where do you get those acrylic foot stands from and are they pricey?

Following this: 1. Where do you get the acrylic foot stands? 2. Where do you get the acrylic risers? 3. What's the general cost of each?
THANKS! And awesome collections. @tdj, incredibly jealous of that McMahon.

Nivro™ and anyone else who's interested in the little discs, they are for star wars 3 3/4"-4" modern figures; two discs necessary for WWE Mattels. I saw someone using them on their TNMT collection and thought they were the perfect solution. Fairly cheap to get, and you can get lots! I can't honestly remember who I bought the risers from, but it was on evil bay too, just look for acrylic risers, there's lots. theaxehennig - great eye! Have to admit this was PURE LUCK. I was randomly searching auctions last year and came across this hidden gem, couldn't believe my eyes. It's not a custom, it's a factory error. I don't think the seller had a clue, so I snapped him up lightning quick. Still had my doubts until he arrived in the mail and validated that it was indeed a factory error - flesh-tone upper thighs! The new elite Iron Sheik coming out in orange tights corrects this too, I might pick him up for the new head scan. TDJ: how about a closer look at your Powers of Pain!?

The original Mattel release of this Sheik has blue short shorts (for some unknown reason, not trunks as he always wore before his Iranian jorts). To fix this, you would have had to split the hips and replace with another and STILL paint match the flesh-tones because those parts don't exist for his skin-tone (at least at the time it didn't). In other words, lots of hard work to get his look in trunks. It would appear this figure missed the blue paint application process to the hips during the assembly process, and ironically, this factory error actually corrects Sheiky-baby's actual gear, i.e. trunks not short shorts. example: That's far too much time searching for a man's blue trunks while at work...

What difference do the clear discs make then? How do they help from just standing the figure on the acrylic?

You can certainly stand the figures on the acrylic steps, but figures' feet are a smaller base and can be slippery. I like the discs because they have a smaller footprint that the Mattel figure stands - you can put tag teams closer together which you can't do with the large Mattel stands. You have a wider degree of motion to move the legs, and aesthetically it looks more appealing to me.

The reason I built my own, was because everything else had the front figure hiding too much of the figure behind. I made my stair steps taller. Display

2 questions:
1: Height wise, is it possible to have 4 rows if you are just displaying hasbros/retros in a detolf?
2: If so, has anyone come across a stand or risers that will allow it?

Sounds like you are looking for 3-step risers (the fourth row being the one on the ground) instead of 2-step risers
