So I just bought series 1-3 "mint on card" from a guy in Vegas. I am in Illinois. He mailed them usps ground and it took 3 weeks for them to get here. He individually wrapped each one with newspaper and I would say they were protected pretty well. When I opened them all up every single one of them except 1 had the bubble detached from the cardboard making every single one of them now a loose figure rather than mint on card. Does anyone think this is possible that the cards and bubbles all detached by themselves during the shipping procces or is this guy trying to scam me?

The glue sucks on them and I've seen them in store coming off the card. It also doesn't help that the card backs are thinner than a sheet of paper..

Hi, unfortunately it is possible. did you see a pic beforehand ? A lot of times you can see where the glue is lifting on parts. If they bounce a bit, they can fall off. All of them is a bit iffy though ?

Just a quick follow up. This line is the worst line that Mattel has put out in terms of card and bubble thickness and glue. even figures i have gotten straight out of the case have been beat up and crushed when the box itself was in perfect shape. Not sure why Mattel could not use higher quality materials like the basics ?

Hmmm - I've seen a few figures where the bubble has completely come off the card... all but one though? ( 15 figures?). Sounds extremely fishy to me. Not to mention: if this guy sold them to you MOC and - for whatever reason - they arrived with nearly all the bubbles detached, then I think you should contact him for a refund.

If it was well protected, I don’t see it happening. I don’t want to say he scammed you...but he knew what he was shipping. Those of us who have shipped hundreds of time either here or eBay, I’ve never seen that many items in one shipment damaged during shipping. Was the box beat up? Looked like it had been thrown around, etc...I’d ask at least for a partial refund first, then go from there. Depends on how the seller handles the situation. Sounds fishy for sure..

Never seen one where the bubble was detached. The card used is thin and cheaply made though, I've received indian takeaway menus printed on higher gsm paper

It seems almost impossible for that many bubbles to come off the card in one box of figures unless they were subjected to the most extreme temperatures somewhere along the way. Seller shenanigans? But I do agree with everyone else here that the retro cards are the absolute worst I've seen on any Mattel WWE figure, or any mainstream action figure product for that matter. Very flimsy and they make me glad I only buy them to open and display next to Hasbros.

I always recommend shipping retros or hasbros with a lot of the packaging peanuts. That's how I always do it because this issue is common. The peanuts will prevent the figure from moving around at all.

Box was in pretty good condition. Overall there was enough padding inside but I guess there was some room for them to move around. I'm gonna file a case and get a refund. He says he has insurance on it. Thanks for all the responses, I thought it was pretty fishy as well.
