So, do the Falcons go ahead and play Ryan, or do we cancel the season and play Harrington or Redman? That's a toss up .. I would say throw Ryan in there, but i don't wanna see him get burned out. - Iron Heart

I don't like throwing young QB's into situations where they really cannot succeed.
I say sit him for now, let him learn the system behind a veteran QB, and give him some spot playing time throughout the season.

He won't be happy until even John Madden is tired of him.

Ive been a packer fan since as long as I can remember, but if they wont let Favre come back. them. He has been the face of that team for a long ass time, If he wants to play one more season as a Packer, then ing let him. Love or hate Favre, he is still one of the best quarterbacks of all time.

Because he holds the franchise hostage, the Packers are bigger than Brett Favre, I agree with you on the "homer" love you show the man, Id do the same for Brady or whomever, but its getting silly...either retire or dont. If he sat 2 years then changed his mind, thats fine but hes being a dick right now about it. Good for the Packers

Good for the Packers True, he is in a way holding them hostage, but once Rodgers doesnt do a great job, he is a good player, but I honestly do not think hes ready to be a starter, let alone the leader of the Packers, they will be kicking themselves in the ass for letting Favre go. Honestly, if he does come back, i see this as his final season, he should end it as a packer. He made the packers what they were since he arrived there.

How could Rodgers not be ready to be a starter? What do you base that on? He's been in the league for like 5 years backing up Favre.
If he's not the starting QB on Opening Day for the Packers this season, they need to do what's right and trade him. It isn't fair to keep dicking his career around for the sake of accommodating Favre.

It isn't fair to keep dicking his career around for the sake of accommodating Favre. I will give him all the credit in the world, when he played against the cowboys last season, I know he is a great player, but honestly, I dont think hes ready to lead the Packers, then again that was said about many other QB's in the past, but being a Packer fan, I just want Brett to end his last season as a Packer if he does indeed come back. Rodgers had one great game, but thats still not enough to determine on how he will play as the new leader of the team. I know we have to have it happen to find out, but if Brett Favre wants to come back, and if the Packers dont want him back, they have made a HUGE mistake. Brett Favre not dressing in the Green and Yellow is something that should never ever be seen, the man is a football god. I do support Rodgers, and yes its not fair to him, but hes being taught by one of the best players ever in football history. His day will come but, one more season wont hurt him. I could understand if the Packers worked something out so Favre and Rodgers share reps during games, that way Rodgers could get alot more experience, and Favre can still lead the team. Greg Jennings who is from Kalamazoo Michigan, which is where I live, is here lately, so hopefully ill be able to catch up with him again and talk to him about it. I might be able to get a few things signed for my fellow Packer fans on this board.

You keep saying that Rodgers "isn't ready to lead the Packers." Well, if he isn't ready now, when will he be? When he's in his 10th year in the league still backing up Favre?

Farve asked the Packers for them to release him today. But the Packers haven't responded yet but personally there is always one story that takes up the entire NFL offseason, and I can't get any info on my damn team.

Training camp hasn't started yet, there isn't much info to get.
And Favre ought to be ashamed of himself. He has put the Packers through so much of this retirement crap the last 5 years it's ridiculous. I don't blame them for wanting to move on, as they should.
