Panthers have suspended Smith for the first two games of the regular season according to nfl.com.
That's what you call shooting yourself in the foot. Good luck, Carolina. It's going to be a fun two weeks without your best offensive player.

It's going to be a fun two weeks without your best offensive player. I'm happy to see them suspend him. First of all, he's not on any of my fantasy teams, so it doesn't really affect me... But secondly, I think you have to suspend guys who are getting out hand like that -- especially when the guy is supposed to be a "team leader." This isn't the first time that Smith has been in a 'scuffle' with one of his own teammates.

Oh, I definately agree. I'm just stating that for the Carolina Panthers that's essentially saying "we're starting 0-2".

Glad to see the Panthers take action against Steve Smith.

Here's something I was thinking about.
If Brett Favre ends up taking the 20 million over 10 years to stay retired does it change your view of his career? It would change my view slightly especially since he stated in his speech that it was "never about the money." If he wants to play then selling out to stay retired is a direct slap in the face to everyone who actually felt sorry for him during this situation.

Something tells me Rodgers is getting the shaft. Poor guy, they actually had him believing that regardless of Favre's decisions, he was their guy.

The Packers would never do this, but they really should just do what's right and trade/ release Aaron Rodgers. It's completely unfair to do this to the guy year after year after year. I realize that no matter what the Packers do here they're going to get criticism, but still. This has got to take a ridiculous toll on Rodgers' psyche, even if/ when he does ever become a starting QB in Green Bay.

Colt Brennan impressed me alot. I wouldn't be surprised if he took over towards the end of the season.

Well, it's way too early to say Brennan can do that in a real NFL game. I have seen plenty of TERRIBLE Quarterbacks tear it up in the pre-season.

I said since the begining that Brennan in the 6th round was the steal of the entire draft. Within 2 years he will be a pro bowl QB.

So in a rare coach move, Mike Shannahan declared the Denver won't miss the playoffs this year.
If he's wrong, I'm afraid this might be the last Shannahan year in Denver.
