(1-5, 5 being the best): 3 2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?: battle royal w/andre/studd/refrigerator perry(im from chicago), hogan/bundy, bulldogs/dreamteam 3) What did you like most about this event?: the hype for it was insane. just having another big ppv event. bulldogs won the belts. 4) What did hate most about this event?: perry pulled studd out of battle royal, mrT/piper was a DQ, orndorff/muraco a DCO, 5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: some better matches. some big andre/refrigerator perry action in the battle royal. a) best match: bulldogs/dreamteam b) worst match: adonis/elmer c) fav match: battle royal **Final Thoughts**: Decent event. not the worst, not the best. at the time i was pumped for it. loved the nfl players in the battle royal. studd/perry goin at it was HUGE for me. SOOO happy bulldogs won the titles. liked the steamboat/herc & jyd/santana-funks matches, hogan/bundy was fun. mr.T/piper kinda sucked, rather they just wrestled. wathced it prob 50 times on vhs as we recorded it off ppv. |

PPV/Supercard Talk #7: Wrestlemania 2
1) What do you rate this event? (1-5, 5 being the best): 4
2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?: I first seen this event in 1991 probably, when I rented it at a video store, so to me, I was excited just to finally see this event!
3) What did you like most about this event?: How it was in 3 different arenas. I know people can crap on that at times, but it was unique!
4) What did hate most about this event?: Nothing really
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: If we had the Ricky Steamboat vs. Bret Hart match that was talked about happening at this show
a) best match: British Bulldogs vs. The Dream Team for the WWF Tag Titles
b) worst match: Jake Roberts vs. George Wells
c) fav match: The Battle Royal was awesome, but then I am a fan of that style of match
**Final Thoughts**: I like Wrestlemania 2 way more than Wrestlemania from a the year before. I thought it seemed bigger, it had better matches, and it still was riding high from Wrestlemania. This would be how things would go until right around Wrestlemania IV when things started to drop a bit for the WWF, but Wrestlemania 2 is definitely worth seeing for anyone who hasn't yet!

4) What did hate most about this event?:Boxing match with T/Piper. I was never a fan of boxing to begin with but I understand why they did it. On top of it the DQ was lame.
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?:Piper/T in just an all out street fight
a) best match:Bulldogs vs Dream Team
b) worst match:Elmer/Adonis
c) fav match:Bulldogs/Dream Team with the battle royal a close 2nd
Final Thoughts- Definitely better than Mania 1 but not by much.You got some gems on there like the tag title match and even Funks vs JYD/Tito was a nice treat. This Mania is far from the best but it's not on my worst list either. I remember renting the big clamshell VHS a lot back in the day.

2) What were you looking forward to or most excited to see at this event?: I started watching wrestling in 1992 and worked my way back, so I think just seeing some of the wrestlers and matches I’d read about
3) What did you like most about this event?: the concept of it being held in three separate venues. The closed circuit concept always fascinated me.
4) What did hate most about this event?: the woman who kept saying “uh-oh” on commentary! I want to say her name was Susan St James but I may be wrong. Irritating to say the least.
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: maybe a straight wrestling match with Piper/MrT (although that may have been horrid, in fairness). Also, being from the uk, having the NFL players in the battle royal really did nothing for me, so less of them, with wrestlers taking their place.
a) best match: Bulldogs v Dream Team
b) worst match: there were none that were overly offensive
c) fav match: Hogan v Bundy
Final thoughts. Enjoyable event, I’m pretty sure this was the event that had the coliseum music in the intr, and what a fantastic piece of music it was. It felt to me that it had more focus on wrestling than the special guests, which was a good thing.

3) What did you like most about this event?: The Main Event; I just love cage matches (especially if blood is involved)
4) What did hate most about this event?: The whole “in three different arenas” gimmick and the other commentators who aren’t Vince, Gorilla, Monsoon, or Mean Gene
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: Having it in one arena and the Bret/Steamboat match
a) best match: Hogan v. Bundy in a steel cage for the WWF Championship
b) worst match: Elmer v. Adonis
c) fav match: Hogan v. Bundy

3) What did you like most about this event?: The few good matches it had
4) What did hate most about this event?: Overdoing of celebrities
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: Roddy Piper legit knocking Mr T out:)
a) best match: Bulldogs vs Dream Team
b) worst match: Other than the tag title match, cage match, and battle royal... take your pick!
c) fav match: Cage match, but I liked the battle royal as well.
Final thoughts- I'm sorry, but this is in the top five of worst wrestlemanias of all time. 2 may be a generous grade.

4) What did hate most about this event?: Too much to list. Bad undercard with some really crap matches. Celebrities who had NO frigging clue what was going on or what the hell they were doing there.
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: A non-garbage filled moose crap undercard. And celebrities that knew what the hell they were talking about. Nothing beats Cathy Lee Crosby talking about how great the Women's Title match was, when in reality it was one of the worst matches in the history of professional wrestling. And watching Mean Gene ask Ozzy Osbourne how much of an inspiration he was to the Bulldogs in their Title win while Dynamite Kid is laying on the floor bleeding out from a head injury is just pure madness at it's finest!

b) worst match: Oh, God ...I'll give it to Moolah vs Velvet McIntyre

3) What did you like most about this event?: this is my most nostalgic Wrestlemania (4 being a close 2nd). I was 2 and half when this event came out, but I was super into wrestling(home videos prove this and help jog my memory lol). My parents had a few wrestling shows and a Saturday night main event on tape as well as this one, so I watched them over and over and over. I watched this Wrestlemania and the SNME before it on VHS years and years after this event was over.
4) What did hate most about this event?: looking back...how they didn’t get Dynamites crazy bump on camera and didn’t put it over after the fact, just went to Ozzy and Lou.
5) What could/would have made this event better to/for you?: the rumored Steamboat vs Hitman match!
a) best match: bulldogs/dreamteam
b) worst match: moolah/McIntyre (not gonna lie I used to rewind Velvets missed splash over and over trying to catch a nip slip 😆)
c) fav match: Hogan/Bundy & everything to do with Piper from his performance to his promos.

Just read through the other replies and a lot of us wished to have that Steamboat/Hitman match. I know we got that one at the Boston Garden but this would of been even better. I found a pic in a magazine of the Hart Foundation double backdropping Steamboat. Wonder where we can find that match?

I think the problem with this one was, too much... 3 locations, triple the celebrities. But he did exactly what he did the previous year - make a mostly subpar undercard so the main event's for each location would be great in comparison.
I mean, let's look:
Paul Orndorff vs Magnificent Muraco - match went like 4 minutes to a double countout. What was the purpose,again? Did absolutely NOTHING for either guy.
Macho Man vs George Steele - not bad actually for the whole 5 minutes they were given. This would be a trend.
Jake Roberts vs George Wells - 3 minutes of not much. basically just meant to get Damian over.
Fabulous Moolah vs Velvet McIntyre - just pure garbage. Lasted a little over a minute. One of the worst matches I've ever seen .
Cpl Kirchner vs Nikolai Volkoff - also crap.
Ricky Steamboat vs Hercules - not terrible, but nothing to write home about either
Uncle Elmer vs Adrian Adonis - Hey, look! More crap!
Funk's vs JYD and Chico - best of the undercard matches, and actually pretty fun match!
.... so that's 5 pure garbage matches, two so-so matches, and one decent match on the undercard. I would've rioted.
